It is rare that I ever write notes down before I play them.  Rather, I noodle around and allow myself to make mistakes before committing to a specific note, phrase, riff or other song component.  Anyone who enjoys writing the same way and is willing to test the limits to their own musical ability without fear of criticism is welcome to join and talk about it here in Improvisation Station.  (Stupid name, I know.  I'm such an idiot.)
