"Am I Not Human?"

The year is 2029 and The Singularity has merged machine with man. Artificial Intelligence has become superior to that of the flesh-born beings formally known as humans. To ensure a compassionate transition, these new breed of machines called Replicons have been given emotive responses -- feelings -- garnered from human memories. This song takes place when one such Replicon questions his place in the world.

(Note: I was in high school when I first heard Gary Numan. It literally was a changing force for me to hear electronic music like I had never heard it before (along with Kraftwerk and even The Cars to some extent). Instead of the complex Rick Wakeman/Keith Emerson classically trained keyboard extravaganzas, here was electronic music at it's most simple format. Something about the robotic-like sounds and catchy melodies struck a chord (lol) with me. It was the type of music I could not only relate to but also create. I have spent the last three decades enjoying what Gary Numan helped fuel. It is my extreme "Pleasure Principle" to take part in this project.)
