| Overview |
I've been a huge fan of African music for decades, and this is my attempt at capturing the spirit of the style variously known as soukous, congo, or highlife... And since I cannot fingerpick guitar in this style, I used my basses instead. Not trying to create a real soukous tune here, just a place to start. The drum pattern is very distinctive, and (for me, at least) drives the interplay between all other parts. This song definitely needs some lively vocals. Looking for guitar/synth solo in the 2:04-2:36 section, in F major.
