Ears and opinions, please. I think the bass should be better balanced. I also think I need a break today - I need to listen to this with fresh ears later on. :)

Sounds good to me on my laptop speakers. That's a good sign.

Sounds brilliant .. The breakdown bit sounds particulary good with the guitar parts taking a bit more focus. I'll have a listen on some better speakers in the morning but it's sounding good on my ear buds !

btw - when we're set, I'll also put up the wav file.

Do the solo guitar parts sound ok? I keep thinking I could improve the final section some, but I only notice an issue when I push my car speakers to their max. So it could be the speakers...dunno.

just listened on my in-ear 'phones.... if Thor had a drum kit, his kick drum would sound like that :)

lol...is that good or bad? My weakness is I love music driven by drums and bass - some of the best things I've written start with the guitar in my head, but drum and bass parts programmed/written first. It's quite usual for the guitar to change then. Anyways - if I overdid it, let me know. What kit do you use, btw?

Well - I have the same weakness - and the kick is superb... I just wonder if it overpowers the bass a bit, or makes it sound like the midd levels are low (like a "V" shape in a graphic equalizer)... Dunno... my hearing is shot to bits anyway from so much drumming without ear protection..... From a drummer's perspective, I can sum it up using the word "ROCK!" :)

I *think* the bass comes thru clear, but Dan will clue me on that. My bluetooth phones at work aren't as good as the specs claim they should be, no surprise, so I don't trust them, but it seems balanced.

The freq chart on this is fairly scooped out (Dan will prolly give me hell for that) - more so than most mixes I do. I think that's due to no vox part really, since a singer would sit right in that mid area. I was leery of _adding_ mid via eq since that always sounds boxy, although I tried to beef up the guitar sounds in that area some using amp emulation and cab mic'ing stuff.

I'll go over it again this eve and see if I can tweak it a bit more. Thanks for the feedback - keep it coming!

Yeah...hmmm....maybe a bit could come off the kick...I'll mess with it this eve.
