1985
I long for that time, when my life was mine
When I drove a black camaro, had a tie that was too narrow
and I though it looked perfectly fine
I played in a band, ate meals from a can
I never went to bed, I stayed up instead
When I had cash in my hand
I never had a worry, I was never in a hurry
I had life all figured out
Rocking with the band, playing one night stands
We would make it there was never a doubt
In 1985, I felt so alive
It was so cool playing with my buddies from school
I had everything going right
In 1985, I did more than survive
Playing in a hair band, I just didn't care and
We were rocking, We were rocking every night
I long for that time, when my life was mine
I would see a short skirt, corner her and we'd flirt
and we would have a really great time
She would come home with me, and we would watch MTV
We'd make out to Vjs, she would leave the next day
And I would go play the next city
I never had a worry, I was never in a hurry
I had life all figured out
Rocking with the band, playing one night stands
We would make it there was never a doubt
In 1985, I felt so alive
It was so cool playing with my buddies from school
I had everything going right
In 1985, I did more than survive
Playing in a hair band, I just didn't care and
We were rocking, We were rocking every night
