OK, something a bit different from me, not sure if you will like it!

I deliberately didn't download your guitar and started the music totally from scratch, so not sure it matches your original idea. Tried for a haunting but dirty, dirty style....

Bit rough round the edges and could take a bass (maybe a little less guitar too!)

I love it!! I dont mind people taking out my guitar tracker, ever.. so that's not a problem at all.. i really love it.. i was waiting for something techno to happen.. i can't lie.hahah...but i love it!!! I can totally hear something like this in a movie cause it's pretty droney.. i dig it..good job! :)

ecopunk   ecopunk on Sat, Nov 12, 2011 @ 06:43 PM UTC

Techno? Ah, we will have to wait for Lee to get home from work - he will get it moving!

Glad you like it. I think the whole 'droney' thing worked out quite well....

I love the sweet voice at odds with a guitar sound hard, calm and expressed anger at the same time...

Thanks for that Ben. Appreciated. Shame this has not yet risen into the members picks, this is a great song Steph and it deserves to be heard more widely...

Eco...wondered if you had the breakdown of your guitar (and the synth part). Would like to add it to what I'm working on....mix it all up :-)

ecopunk   ecopunk on Wed, Nov 16, 2011 @ 08:21 PM UTC

Yes, happy to. I will post them up tomorrow.

leesharp   leesharp on Thu, Nov 17, 2011 @ 05:26 AM UTC

Fantastic addition Tim, I just had to add something to it. Sorry if I have masked it in any way. If you like it I can let you have the seps once I have refined it a little as it was rushed yet again.

Breathtax   Breathtax on Thu, Nov 17, 2011 @ 06:06 PM UTC

Lee i think your drum contribution would work much better if it started at 1:18 and built up in rather than all the way through so theres a sense of it building into a full song ..of course its up to steph.. but what do you think?

leesharp   leesharp on Fri, Nov 18, 2011 @ 12:03 AM UTC

Yeah my version is only rough and the thought crossed my mind last night to start lighter but then i thought no straight in but that may change. I do plan to play with the track tonight and try a few things now it is in my head. This only took me an hour at 5 in the morning so I do not get chance to give any thought process initially, this is what just came out. I tend to put things down quickly then spend the next few days refining / changing. Cheers Ben.

flamparadiddle   flamparadiddle on Sun, Nov 20, 2011 @ 08:07 PM UTC

I'm getting my head round a feel for this, give me a day or two and I will send a drum track. I love it!!!!!

ecopunk   ecopunk on Sun, Nov 20, 2011 @ 10:05 PM UTC

Cool! I imagine something subtle, yet pretty dark and heavy??? Not sure what the hell that means!

flamparadiddle   flamparadiddle on Sun, Nov 20, 2011 @ 11:15 PM UTC

I hear you

flamparadiddle   flamparadiddle on Mon, Nov 21, 2011 @ 08:23 PM UTC

any chance of the bass line from the Light Hearted Lee Version being uploaded as a single track? Would make it a load easier all round. I have all the other bits on 1/2" tape and all synced up but could do with the bass track as a guide

ecopunk   ecopunk on Mon, Nov 21, 2011 @ 08:35 PM UTC

Hey Nick, you got me drooling. I would love to be back with 1/2 inch tape! Unfortunately I am all DAW now, more's the pity. Really looking forward to hearing your take on this...

I am sure Lee will upload his bass sep, I'll send him a pm in case he doesn't spot this.

flamparadiddle   flamparadiddle on Mon, Nov 21, 2011 @ 08:44 PM UTC

Tape has its plus points like headroom and warmth, but it can be a pain in the butt too. I use a Roland 2480 for digi, amazing bit of kit for not a lot of money. I like ebay!

RAVEN   RAVEN on Mon, Nov 28, 2011 @ 01:25 AM UTC

This is probably one of my faves from you, Steph. Your voice sounds so vulnerable, love the emotion in this. Terrific music as well, awesomeness! ~R

stephborel   stephborel on Mon, Nov 28, 2011 @ 01:30 AM UTC
