I still have the tracks setup to re record as required, I think a different snare would loosen it up a little

Ok. I like your technique very much! And the way you played a track too.
Couple of nuances.
Reverb on drums doesn't fit to song's common sound. Is it added reverb or room acoustic?
To my mind, drums sound is too harsh. I expect to hear more soft, more warm drums. Something even close to brush ones.
Especially hihats seem to be too metallish.
I'll appreciate if you retrack drums taking into account my wishes. Also i prefer to get sep tracks (dry, unprocessed, uncompressed wav or aif) from every mic.
Thanks
Richie

Thank you for being constructive!! you have no idea how much it helps!!!!
I will bring the mics in a bit closer to cancel room acoustic and play around with mic mics and positions. I mixed the drums a long way forward for examination rather than try to hide them in the mix. The hi hats are Zildjian Custom A 13" and have always sounded bad recorded, great for live. I have some old K's I will try. I have the day to do it today and will upload something later today
