A rough mix. Tell me what needs changing. Angie uploaded 3 vocal tracks and so I've panned one left, one central and one right and added reverb to each.
Go to it, people

-- nice bass lead in Anton -- panned vocals should be a tad lower than main vocals -- reverb nice -- steve's strings smooth as ever! -- Rolf it is lovely!! I think I love it! :) What does everyone else think?

Love it mate, you've done a super job!
Ditto what Angie said, if you pull back the panned vocals, then move the centred vocal track around a bit until it sounds less 'stereo' (if that makes sense). Can also use really short delays b/n the vox tracks, but you may have already done that.
Angie, great effort on the vocals, reaaally smooth!

I did this mix in less than five minutes and did very little to the vocals except reverb. I'll drop the panned vocals slightly and go again.
Incidentally Angie, your vocals are recorded very quiet. I was able to raise the volume just enough but reckon we run the risk of distortion or other noise. On future songs, I reckon you should set the recording level slightly highter, if you can. Maybe your vocal blanket is too absorbent ? [Sorry, British sense of humour]

Yah - I am having trouble getting the vocals as loud as I want them without clipping out on the loud parts - but I do think they sound way better than the last take (thanks Steve) - oh and Steve are you still interested in doing some BG vocals? I tried it myself and I'm gonna noodle around with it again today - with a less absorbent blanket :)

Hey Angie, I'm not fussed, have a go yourself and if you're not happy with it, I'd be fine to contribute.
Another little home recording trick to avoid clipping on loud parts is to sing slightly to the left (or right) of your mic. this can help especially if you have a bright/sensitive mic.
Thats also a cool idea when your doubling up your vocal tracks ie one track can sound blurred/distant & this can work really well.
If your mic has a pad switch, you could try engaging that then turn your recording levels up-problem is that may affect your overall sound too much (might sound eg boxy).
And if you know anyone who has a mic preamp (or have some dosh yourself) that will dramatically increase your ability to push the levels up.
Sorry for getting all geeking on ya haha!

Stick with this. Maybe at the end we should make a karaoke mix so that you can sing along to it live.
