Stepping off another crowded subway
Climbing stairs to reach the avenue
Caught within the shadows of glass buildings
Hoping that the sky is turning blue
I try to focus on my busy schedule
And all the urgent tasks I have to do
While weaving through a crowded push of strangers
Wishing I could be there next to you
Forgive me
Forgive me
Sometimes it's hard to make an honest living
When there are so many bills to pay
I pray that one day you will understand me
And hope you can afford a better way
I try to focus on my busy schedule
And all the urgent tasks I have to do
While weaving through a crowded push of strangers
Wishing I could be there next to you

This is just my basic vocal idea. I can also hear some harmonies which should make the vocal performance more dynamic. Regardless, thanks for sharing this amazing song Adam. Cheers!

Beautiful!
The ability to conjure up this sort of word-craft astounds me. Either I was dropped on my head as a child or this is indeed a rare gift (or both) because I could never come close to writing something like this.

Joe with the sharp wit you regularly display in comments it surprises me you aren't one of the eloquent manipulators of the lexicon's soul.

The only lexicons I can manipulate are the 480-L or the PCM-60.
Trust me, I've tried.

Thanks Ann. My wife said Adam's soundtrack reminded her of the hustle and bustle of a big city. Since I used to commute into the financial district of San Francisco for years, her comment opened up a floodbank of memories.
I agree with Andrew, there's no way you were dropped on your head as a child Joe. Your sharp wit is second to none.
My whole life I've written lyrics to music that only I could hear in my head. I can't tell you how many times I've wondered why I even bother. I've tried learning to play the piano and the guitar in hopes of someday being able to bring a couple of the songs to life. I'm so grateful to be able to rub shoulders with such talented musicians online. It's no surprise, I already consider you all the closest of friends. :)

Now I know the music is my own doing, but that really was such a pleasurable listen. I almost forgot I had anything to do with it and like others I was just in another world. The lyrics work seamlessly. Now you mention the hustle and bustle of the city, I can't imagine anything else ever working for this song. You have chosen some incredibly expressive lyrics too - lyrically this is a work of art. But let's not forget the performance. It is an all round superb collaboration and I would certainly enjoy working with you again!
Thanks again!

Thank you Adam. My wife and I enjoy listening to your music. Sometimes writing acceptable lyrics can be very challenging, but there's nothing like a good song to spark the muse. Don't worry, you will definitely be hearing from me again soon.

Hey Adam,
Just a thought but I think if you completed some of the songs, accepted auditions, featured tracks you like, you may get more people checking out your stuff and working with you more often. There are a few good mixing engineers on here who do strictly mixing work. May be worth sending a invite to some of them. I know "Hospital" could use some direction as far as the mix and unfortunately I don't have the time to take it over but that track as well as this could use some ears. I hate seeing your tracks go by the wayside. Quality stuff shouldn't be left untouched. Cheers,
DC

Good advice man - I haven't accepted an audition for anything ive ever done! Not because they aren't good enough, but because I didn't even know I had to! There's so much to Kompoz I've never used man...Same thing with featuring tracks and so on. I'm not too unhappy in all fairness - people will get to the stuff they like eventually and if they'd like to do anything then great.
I'm just very busy so don't really get time to use Kompoz as intensively as I should...this summer I have like five or six major projects running but I do like to pop something up for kompozers every now and then! I'll definitely take on board your advice though and will certainly be approving auditions! Sorry to those i've yet to approve - i've loved so many of them!

Excellent advice Derek! ;)
Don't forget Adam, your friends on Kompoz might be able to help you with those major projects too.

It's all good. I knew you were digging stuff that you didn't accept. I don't really care as I always found your tracks fun to work with. But more people should be involved in your tracks and maybe that could push people into becoming more involved in the process if they thought their ideas were going places. Cheers man, keep it up. Good luck with your other projects.
