I just noticed that Bjorn has checked out of Kompoz.... very sorry to see it. Bjorn was a real foundation of the site in the early days and probably the most prolific member for years. Bummer
I've played the drums since I was 6 years old, and apart from the basics taught to me by my dad, I've never had lessons... Well not until a few weeks ago when I had my first lesson with Craig Blundell at Steve White's place in Stockport, Nr Manchester, England.
I realize most are noobies to the recording world on this site. There is so much information on the internet that may seem to be overwhealming.
If you would like a mix engineer to be able to mix your track... make ALL the raw trax available... not just the vocals,...or the drum stems...or a mix of the song without guitars, with guitars soloed in another stem.
Even if you have a drum loop...make it known that there are no individual drum tracks. A mix engineer can take your loop and make individual drum trax from it (seperate kick drum, HH, Snare etc.)
My first attempt at blogging was rather pathetic...
So here goes...
Who am I?
I'm Echo
Software I use is Ableton, various soft synths, a 12 string semi & Epiphone Tbird.I am on the look out for hardware - not found a synth yet that either worth the price tag or works in my area
I also have a fondness for sampling, I'll sample anything, I'll spend all day sampling
I also adore feedback
My main love is electronic music but also partial to guitar bands drenched in reverb & delay.
Where I am I?
Based 24 miles outside of Manchester, a small market town population 31,000
North of Manchester (not south as previously stated, I have a shite sense of direction)
Why am I here?
Collaboration. If I'm honest, I have no idea what I am doing and this is where you come in. What I do have are ideas, in abundance and therefore keen to get busy
