We have just finished our latest "Speedy" video clip published, actually we're working in another song video, but something came up, and since the one that we have been working on involves some people, Ron need extra time to finish the editing.
So we came up with a simple idea for this video, and just make it done in less than 24 hours, so we are so sorry for all the quality and not having some epic idea.
I recently purchased a randall modular combo off ebay that came with no modules. while looking over ebay for a module to buy I encounterd as Kirk hammet kh-2 module and the the seller Niels vintage guitars say that Scott Ian of anthrax was the seller. I know Scott used the randall modular amp even has his own signature module.
i have sent an email to randall to see if they can verify the serial no as being his preamp.
if its unverifiable at least I still have a useable module for the amp and the cost was the same as a normal used module.
I will be making updates if I can verify I own metal history.
After the loss of my laptop several weeks ago, I began exploring solutions to insure I wouldn't lose anymore projects that were in process. Normally, I would only backup a finished project and have a redundant copy on kompoz (if I wasn't too lazy to post seps.) Cloud storage was the obvious direction to go, but services such as dropbox weren't suiting my needs.
The service calls itself "the backup, transfer, and organizational tool for managing your media project files and assets." I've given the service a test run over the passed month. I'm impressed. It keeps copies of my entire Logic project and updates it as I make changes. And it does this while I have the project open. Gobbler works with every DAW I have ever heard of, as well as many other media creation tools like video and graphic editors.
I had the great pleasure of meeting two of our fellow Komposers this weekend, Rich Brown and Sabine. As you would probably suspect, in addition to being excellent musicians, these two are incredibly cool and interesting human beings! We thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and for me, it was such a great opportunity to meet people that I admire, musically and otherwise. I've got a favorite song by Rich and Sabine,
Some props are due.... Kompoz is the meeting ground that created this opportunity, and it's one to be seized! Whether we meet face to face or not, the friendship and comraderie that we develop is real. It's a very cool thing, and I don't think many online sites/forums have this kind of a community. I've tested it a couple times now, and the experience has been incredibly positive.
I'll come back this afternoon and post a pic. Cheers!
I've gotten a few comments on the art that I use for my projects, so I thought I'd share this. I like abstract art, but I am not a graphic artist - and I'm also lazy. I use this:
This creates a series of random images by just clicking a few buttons. You just keep clicking away until you see something you like. The program download is free, or you can use it on-line. It's a little quirky and hasn't been updated in a while - probably won't be, I'm guessing - but it does does the job (did I mention it's free ?)
I am fortunate to have children, girl (or should I say young woman) 23 and boy aged 17.
Both enjoy music and since an early age Laurel has involved herself in formal choral work and some school and university shows. My son has his head in exams at the moment.
She has finished her university and specialist education and has found work until she starts her main job.
I have played in a soul band and a funk band long term and do join other musos in various projects. A recent one was a drums, bass, keyboard, guitar and female singer lineup and I enjoyed the contrasting styles and live presentation.
So I suggested to Laurel that we go out and do some gigs.
We are at the point of finalising the giglist and rehearsing. A cd is nearly there to give away at gigs and to send to potential venues.
Part of the fun in all this was sorting out a live equipment package, finding stuff that would do the task, be reliable and be sufficiently adaptable for the gig set list. Some bits I had already.
I though some might enjoy seeing some pictures of the results and may wish to comment on familiar stuff or experiences.
Detail can be seen better when viewing in my pics area:)
As I roamed at the edge of the known, Somewhat dazed by the space to explore. That's the point where the future arrived - Where I saw and I the opened the door.
Where a sphere meets a line in a plane, And a thing has no order or fate. (Seemed to me just a little insane - A completely ambiguous state).
But a door, nonetheless, there it stood ! Just a nudge, and the light is in view. Past the threshhold I'm sure it's ok. Just a couple more steps and I'm through.
Would I find what I'm hoping to see ? Would the echoes within keep me out ? In the end is it still mystery - Unresolved, always shrouded in doubt ?
I can always go back, so I mused, If it isn't the way it appears. I can stop - lock the door - if I must. I can simply give heed to my fears.
But...
I chose to continue along And arrived at the place that I stay. Where a thought can turn into a song, And the dreamers keep dreaming away.
