I have been playing bass for a number of years (more than I care to count) in various bands and also writing songs. Favorite bass players are: Jaco (of course), Jack Bruce, John Entwhistle, Billy Sheehan, Michael Anthony, Duck Dunn, Cliff Williams, Niels-Henning Orsted Pedersen (yeah I know, confusing mix).
My bass style is simple and solid and i like to throw in the odd thing here and there to keep you on your toes. I cannot play funk/slap style bass at all. I use fingers when required and a pick when required and alternate between Squier Precision and Jazz basses (who can afford a Fender??) - whatever sounds best for the song - but always with Rotosound strings and Ampeg amps.
I wish I could sing... my vocal range is A flat to... A flat... (in the same octave)
I like playing live a whole lot more than recording, but also enjoy recording.
As you see from the videos below, the priority is having fun. Guide to videos:
Top: myself (in the middle) and long-time partners in crime Janne (guitar) and Stefan (drums). We used to have a band and you get one guess which band we played covers from. This video was shot at the first rehearsal after a 19-year "pause" in playing together.
Middle: The Secret Video Project with the fabulous talent of David, Marty, Billy, Raf, Pascal and Rab
Bottom: A secret home video taped in my living-room at a very wet musician party. Excellent drummer Tomas on vocals, Stefan again on drums and his brother Kenneth on guitar. Rumour has it that Judas Priest will never forgive us.
Bjorn, you are amazing. I have never seen someone turn out so many song ideas that are finished, polished pieces of work even before they hit the web server. I'm always inspired to play along, and often hesitate cause I don't want to mess with a good thing. Keep it going, man...

Bjorn- when you get a chance, let me know how you hold down a job and still manage to be as prolific as you are on kompoz. How do you streamline your setup? Thanks - cyclingtroll
