Started out in Bluegrass. Played that for about 20 years - then begin to go backwards instead of forward into old-time music. Especially like old fiddle tunes.
Played Bluegrass guitar with a group in Nashville called Natchez Express for a spell. The banjo picker - Curt McPeake who played with Bill Monroe, Lester Flatt , Wilma Lee and Stoney Cooper, along with Danny Davis and the Nashville Brass, took us under his wing on his retirement and turned us into a Bluegrass Band. Played a number of festivals back in the early 80's on the Bluegrass Circuit. A super gentleman and great entertainer that Curtis.
Couldn't afford to play Bluegrass and stuck to teaching, which I've recently retired from after 30 years with the state of Tennessee, and now enjoying my free time uploading and downloading tracks @ Kompoz. This is a fantastic medium. Something I've been looking for a long time, and some of the greatest, most helpful people I've ever been acquainted with.
Thanks Kompoz for a miraculous musical medium.
