It'll hit the App Store tomorrow morning. I'm not even going to try to resist updating. No doubt there'll be conflicts. What doesn't kill me makes me stronger. If it kills my Apogee Duet, thats another story.

would love to see kompoz in the notification center feature. I've no idea what that would take -maybe a feature of the new app you're working on?

Notification Center and Kompoz -- Yes!  I will add that to my research and build wish list.

Updated. Everything seems to be working except the focusrite VRM box - it loads the drivers, the UI loads, but it produces no sound. Focusrite notes this issue - I failed to check it before starting the install. Doh. I checked everything else.

Line6: check

focusrite saffire pro24: check

focusrite VRM: fail

I'm up and running.  Everything seems OK.  Have not tried the M-Audio yet.

No change to the functions of my Duet. Apogee claims no update is required. Presonus AudioBox works as well.

Its not a huge update. I like the Airplay feature. Notifications are limited. As a Chrome user. I'm not interested in Safari's new features.

So update: the VRM box works fine. I don't know why it wasn't working when I tested initially, but it does now, so I'd say there was a fault between the keyboard and the chair.

Thanks for the update Bill ! I've been holding off due to the VRM box compatibility issue you had earlier.

WARNING!!!

It appears that the latest version of the VRM software has a serious bug in it that at least one other kompozer has discovered. I've filed a bug, but the short of it is that the VRM box can easily be pushed into a state where the midi clock sync gets screwed up and a very painful squeal of feedback will be generated. This happened to me with a proj that had 9 audio only tracks.

I downgraded from the 1.2.1 version to 1.2 and this problem seems to have gone away.

If you haven't upgraded to 1.2.1, you may want to avoid that until they have a new release.

I jumped up to 10.8 and it was a battery drain for me. At Apple forums they say these things happen with initial releases of a new OS. So bad. I had started to like it. I went back to 10.6.8 after a painful hard drive erase and re-install of all my stuff.

Now the VRM Box bug...

I'm happily back home to Snow Leopard.

I've had not other issues than this, on iMac or MacBook Pro, but 2 computers is a pretty small sample.

The fan in my MacBook Pro runs almost constantly. Its quiet. I didn't notice for a while, but it explains the rabid battery drain.
