I started noticing when I was about 18 that when I'd play with my guitar that for the rest of the day my fingers would tingle.  Does anybody else experience this?  Anybody know why?

I had it in my left hand for several months and it graduated to include pain in my wrist. My doctor told me it was Carpel Tunnel Syndrome and that is a very common among guitarist.

I have Carpel Tunnel and have for many years in my right hand & tendonitis in the left. It is all part of being a guitarist. The best thing I do to prevent it is to always warm-up gradually, and to play at a correct position whether it is standing or sitting. Like do not hold the neck up with your left hand and make sure your right hand is not up really high, find the best spot. Find away to play that is not uncomortable. Any sign of pain means you are pushing it. If I take it easy and warm up and try do things that I know agravate it, things are good.

It could be the gage of strings you use, the nerve ending aren't far from the tip of your finger....

I would try lighter strings and see if it continues, if you haven't already done that.....

If you have I'd check with a doctor, could be the beginning of something you won't like

later on down the road.........

Try a product called Hand Master. But you should NOT excersise you hand if there is pain.
I had this for ten months and it was bad. I tried to practice through it but that was a big mistake.

You have to heal before you can get at it hard.
