I don't know if u guys are familliar with the game League of Legends, it's a game I play a bit online. They have a contest on for a 'rocking' song inspired by or about one of the in-game characters.

By submitting I think we pretty much give them rights to use the song for anything they desire.

To enter I think the band members must have a LoL account...it's a free game and entrants need not have purchased anything.  I'm thinking some high energy rock is what they're looking for.

They want an mp3 e-mailed as a submission, and it needs to also be uploaded to utube with the image of the character the song is about (I can do that).

Anyone interested in this?

yeah the game is like DOTA (warcraft). It doesn't say you need to PLAY the game, just sign up an account (by installing it I think). The game is free so no worries about any cost.

Its one of those games you run around on a map trying to destroy the enemy base and kill enemy units. Multiplayer Online Battle arena - or MOBA-  is the game genre.

Im not trying to plug the game, just wanna do a track because I like the game and the possible publicity plug.

oh yeah there's some 1.3 million people play the game around the world, that's a lot of possible views.

And for song style I'm thinking something energetic and rocking that's family friendly - like "DR feelgood" with a little less 80's glam, but of course I'll roll with whatever guitars you guys come up with.

okay Craig wants in too, so lets get something done :-) We got until 25 of this month, but I think we should aim to submit it a week earlier than that. I've listened to previous years entries and as far as recording quality goes, we got that nailed.

Also the song must be no longer than 3 minutes.... rules,rules,rules.

I have an idea just sitting in my computer for a couple of months. We could use it for the contest if you wanted. I like Mikes idea a lot, and already have a bassline for it in my head. I will try to track it tomarrow morning.

Well, I've been practicing a lot in the last couple of months, very regularly, but I think the tipping point was 4 hours of yardwork, a lot of it with a, electrical trimmer that put me over 2 weekends ago. It's getting better, but it's frustrating. :)

Isn't there a guitarist out there that plays with his feet? :)

uh...probably. And probably plays better than me. lol...

I, however, have to use fingers and hands. I've been working crazy on extended voicings in chords over the 8 string, and also on sweep picking exercises. Anyway, I've been practicing more lately than I ever did - and I think wrestling with the width of the 8 string neck has caused a little strain. I'm still working on the best hand position technique. Obviously I haven't got it quite right yet... :D

Yeah, put "LukasAdro" as the summoner who recommended you :-) I think that gives me points to unlock a free character. The way the game normally works is you start with a couple of free characters and then every game you play they give you reward points for free... play some 50 games you get enough to unlock a new character....or if you are impatient like me you pay about $3 to unlock a character without saving points.

Will check out the project now...... The moles here are a PITA. And gun control law in the uk is über strict. You can't even buy air rifles online any more - Has to be in person at a licensed store.Dynamite would be cool though.... I always fancied having a pond but could never be bothered to dig one out.... A 2 for 1 opportunity perhaps ? Vermin control and landscaping.

gun laws here you can't even own an air rifle. Only crazies who get licences are allowed guns, and people still get shot heaps around here....

yeesh...a windows only game...lol. Well, I'm signed up but since I'm a mac/linux guy, guess I'll not be playing anytime soon...

Just my 2c. My reasons for entering this contest was just so we could get some publicity for Spine once we release the whole CD. If we want we can say that we all live in Ohio in the states they would never know.
