If you're a Mac user, please help me test a very early preview version of a new app named "Kompoz Konnect". Konnect will eventually become the preferred desktop app for uploading and download tracks directly to/from Kompoz. This preview version includes just the "download" feature. With this version, you'll be able to download any track from any project directly to your Mac. You'll also be able to test out the iTunes feature mentioned here.
It works very good ! The download was fast like the wind ! It has create a little folder (Kompoz) and in it the file ! Also ........it has add the track automaticly to I -Tunes !!!
Also - Looks really great - Logical - Simple and easy to use !
Great App !!!
My System is Osx 10.7.4 and i am on a Intel Mac Pro !
That's not an answer to the bug. The bug is that with the current width, you see this. I do UI design - almost 20 years of it. The point isn't that I can fix it by changing something, it's that the default allows for this issue.
I get irritated with people that are afraid of filing a bug during software development (so I apologize if I seem testy on this subject): point the issue out so it can be addressed: it's not a reflection of my appreciation of the feature - it just means you found something that should be addressed when it's appropriate in the dev cycle.
I'm amazed at how often I have to tell other engineers or qa people this: file the bug - I'm not gonna bitch about it - you found something that we can fix to make the experience better - that's a good thing.
This is an awesome thing. I noticed a nit, filed it, and we move on.
Absolutely. No complaints from me. I agree. I put this app out there as an alpha product because I wanted feedback. I appreciate the nit picking just as much as the major bug finds.
I am sorry ! My comment was only meant to help ! It was not meant as an answer to the bug that i have not see direct because the first thing i do with a little window alike this is that i make the window bigger (I am old ). :-)
Otherwise hat up for the wide open eyes and that you have find this out ! This will help allot and so from me a big Thank you Rolling Thunder !
This is really good Raf. So fast and easy to use. Love it!
The ideas others have mentioned is good. This will be a powerful tool, it already is!
I especially love that you can search for a Kompozer and get all projects listed. As far as I can tell it seems like this can be used to "monitor" the track activity of a member. I like that!

Testet on iMac 27" (2011 model iMac 12.2) with Intel Core i5, 3,1 GHz, 8 GB RAM running OS X 10.7.4.
@Brannon: I've been anxiously awaiting your appearance on this thread. I feel better now.
1- Dropbox: It already works. Just go to the Preferences menu and change your download directory to your mapped Dropbox drive or Google drive. That's it. It just works.
Raf, tried it and I get message says "can't open Konnect 2, not supported on this architecture....whatever that means. I guess it's time for an OS upgrade.
I echo the need for the "Added" column at least - right now I'd have to use the web browser to check my selections to make sure I got the current ones I wanted.
The folder naming: I've not tested this, but as there's no date stamp, will a download of the same project (perhaps diff files) result in them going into the same folder? I see that it does download to the same folder, and will infact replace an existing file.
BUG: don't replace existing files w/o asking: prompt the user or rename the current download to filename + [versionNum based on the number of matching filenames +1] . extension
I can see where I might like that, and not...I guess I'm used to having each download be separate which makes looking through my downloads archive easier should I want an older take of something.
One thing I try and avoid in UI stuff is popping up extraneous windows that can stay around after you're done with your task, etc.
I'd prefer to see the download (and I suppose upload) progress dialog be shown as an inframe display like eclipse does when you have it update in the background and show the progress view.
So ideally a panel along the bottom, either full width or under the tracks panel, which becomes visible when the download/upload begins.
Also, I think there's a bug where if I start a download, then start another download, an additional dialog pops up overapping the first. The second download should be allowed, and I like how they both run in parallel, but you only should show the one dialog for all running downloads (or preferably both the status in the progress panel I'm advocating for :)
BUG: display download progress in one dialog or progress panel.
BUG: selection of a single item in the tracks list enables the "Add to iTunes" button, but selecting more then one item disables the button. You should be allowed to perform multiple adds.
BUG: I've never figured out why tour search for tracks does this, but if I search for "sneak" I get a list of titles matching "sneak", but also a list that seemingly has nothing to do with that. The search shold identify the criteria it's searching and or filter out these better:
Guys, I am not particuarly sussed about these things, but I couldn't get it to run?
I have downloaded OK, but when I try to open it from my download folder it jumps about for a second or two on my dock and then an error box opens - Konnect quite unexpetedly - with a huge amount of text. First bit pasted below.
Is there a stage I am missing out? This is a macbook pro with an Intel i5.

Ah. Of course. I should have know that.
"I've been anxiously awaiting your appearance on this thread. I feel better now."
First cut of Uploader! You can now upload files to your projects. Note: This is live, so if you're testing, be sure you uploading meaningful tracks (or you should delete any 'test' tracks you post).
I'm hoping this version resolves the error reported by Tim. Let me know.
Added "My projects" and "Joined" buttons to project search.
After you download, please check that you have the right version. You can tell by checking the About box after you launch the app. It should show: 1.0 (3)
Cool aspects on the new upload feature:
You can add files to upload by using the "+" button, or you can drag-and-drop from Finder to Konnect.
Konnect will try to guess the track type (saving you keystrokes) by evaluating the file name. For example, if the file name includes keywords such as "final" or "mix", it assumes the track is a "Mixdown". If the file name includes keywords such as "guitar" or "gtr" or "solo" or "lead", it assumes the track is a "Guitar" track. Other keywords apply for drums, vocals, etc.
"The folder naming: I've not tested this, but as there's no date stamp, will a download of the same project (perhaps diff files) result in them going into the same folder? I see that it does download to the same folder, and will infact replace an existing file."
** YES. It will replace the file. See next comment for details.
"BUG: don't replace existing files w/o asking: prompt the user or rename the current download to filename + [versionNum based on the number of matching filenames +1] . extension"
** I am staying away from version numbering. There's a good reason. I eventually envision this app as being a true file sync tool (and not an upload/download tool). My mad vision is that you will eventually be able to simply sync a folder on your Mac with a project on Kompoz, and let Kompoz figure out what needs to be downloaded, etc. So I am purposely (for now) staying away from the concept of versions, and I am positioning Konnect to be a sync tool.

** Yes, I agree. I will probably eventually change this.
"BUG: selection of a single item in the tracks list enables the "Add to iTunes" button, but selecting more then one item disables the button. You should be allowed to perform multiple adds."
** That's by design (not a bug). Why would you want to add more than one track of a single project to iTunes? Typically, iTunes has the finished version of the project (not the individual stems). Yes, I can see downloading maybe two (possibly three) different versions of a final mix, but that's not the norm.
