I've noticed lately when I upload multiple tracks they are getting posted to the project twice and sometimes 3 times. Doesn't happen to every track uploaded but has happened on the last 3 projects I uploaded multiple seperates for.

I wanted to give a bump to this topic, as it happened to me twice yesterday.... and the problem is deeper than just duplicating tracks too.  I had uploaded 7 tracks, which were then properly shown on the "confirmation" page between uploading and posting.  Then, 5 of the 7 tracks were duplicated for a total of 12 tracks.

This wouldn't be so bad, because I thought I'd just delete one of each of the duplicated tracks... say for instance "leadvox".  But when looking at the duplicated tracks, both named "leadvox", they were actually two different tracks.  The duplicate "leadvox" track that had been errantly created was actually one of the other 7 tracks(like the actual leftbgvox track renamed as "leadvox").

In order to delete the extra tracks, I had to compare each set of duplicates, and determine which one was the actual.... in none of the cases was the duplicate track the same as the one it was named.

I may be describing this very poorly... it's a little hard to convey.  The project was "Pills" by rollingthunder.

One more thing... I went home after work, deleted all the tracks and tried to re-upload the 7 correct tracks.  This time, once again in the certification screen it showed the correct 7 tracks.  After clicking "ok", it then posted a total of 10 tracks, 3 of which were misnamed duplicates.  For example, two tracks were posted as "leadvox1".....The "leadvox1" duplicate was actually one of the bgvox tracks...etc.

I can definitely answer any questions about the scenario, so please ask away if it'll help diagnose this one.  I think because of the apparent "duplication" of tracks, it'll cause some major problems because it's actually a duplicate of another track than it's name would indicate.

Very odd.  I will investigate. Thank your for the detailed issue description.  That helps tremendously.  When I first read the post, I thought it was with the upload step.  I understand now that it seems to be with the final step.

Raf.. exactly.  I also wondered if on the first try... maybe I had pressed something twice or done something funky when selecting tracks.  I deleted everything and re-uploaded, very deliberately.  On the track rename and certification screen, all of the information was correct, and in this case, all tracks were allready correctly identified as vocal tracks and required no name changes.

I wish I had grabbed some screenshots, because they would better illustrate what I'm describing.  It was lucky that "leadvox" was one of the duplications, because as soon as I saw the waveform, it was obviously not an actual duplicate of the leadvox track....

one more thing... the first 7-track upload actually created 12 tracks, so 5 duplicates.  The project owner informed me that he had gotten 2 email notifications, one for 7 tracks and one for 5 tracks.  But looking at the time stamping for the uploads, it wasn't so clear... the 5 duplicates had no seperation from the correct 7 tracks.  For example, a track named "leftbgvox" had created a duplicate.  By timestampling, the duplicate was only 2 or 3 tracks away in sequence from the other "leftbgvox" track, appearing before the first "rightbgvox" track appeared in timestamp.  In other words, the correct and the duplicate tracks were jumbled, both on the track list page, and in the timestamping.

If you want, I could recreate the whole thing after work.  Let me know, and thanks Raf

This morning, I upload a change to the upload pages.  You probably won't notice a visual difference (although you will now hear a sound played after the file is uploaded).  I'm hoping this change to the backend system will solve the double-post issue.  Give it a shot and let me know.
