I found an incredible site today. There is so much practical information on this site that I doubt I’ll ever get through it all.ArtistsHouseMusic.org is an online non-profit Website created for musicians seeking support, guidance, and expert resources. The site aims to help musicians navigate the challenges and maximize the opportunities available within the music industry. It includes stories, videos, interviews, research, and tips on topics such as marketing your music, production, legal, education, careers in music, and more.
Perhaps the most interesting feature of the site is the interviews with industry leaders. I really enjoyed the video interviews wtih Andy Allen, President of the Alternative Distribution Alliance. Check out the interview titled Record Label Economics (more vidoes).

Alli keeps telling me that she's sure she can bring in some income with her music if we can just get some good recordings.
Thanks so much for this, Raf. I'm begining to believe her.

At least that sounds like great lyrics
Define good recordings lol.
I guess that is easier than getting the general population to recognize good music!

Here's another great video by producer David Kershenbaum. He places the emphasis squarely on communicating emotion to listeners. He reveals why emotion is so critical to good music, and shares four concrete strategies for charging your own songs and recordings with a passion and emotional directness that will draw listeners in.

Raf, would you have any numbers that might brighten my spirits? Is kompoz having any appeal, are you getting listeners? All I have to go by are the numbers within the tracks showing how many times that particular track has been played. Do those numbers reflect kompoz radio plays? Is anybody out there actually paying any attention whatsoever?
I'm still not driven by dollars, only creative expression but I wonder if the only people that have ever heard anything I do are me, Bjorn, maybe Marty, sometimes Billy, and my mother (if only she knew what a computer was)

Kompoz is doing very well! Traffic numbers are up and climbing each day. We have the CD coming out very soon (should ship from manufacturer today!), and it's already on Amazon/MP3 and eMusic (iTunes next). Also, we're talking to podcasters and blogs to get our music heard. Putting together a marketing/PR plan as we speak. Lots of great stuff going on! Spirits are high!

That site is a tremendous resource. I really enjoy the articles and videos about songwriting. I can't find the time to take it all in.
@Lonnie: I also find the time to listen to you as I am certain many of us "less vocal" people do.
