Thu, Oct 30, 2008 • 10:50 AM CDT - By zotz

I thought I would blog this so I can refer to it instead of posting the same info over and over again as I have already needed to give this info out a couple of times here recently.

Some Free Software for audio / music:

Click on Read for more info...

Audacity available for Windows®, Mac or GNU/Linux. The Free, Cross-Platform Sound Editor. GPL licensed.

Traverso available for Windows®, Mac or GNU/Linux. Traverso DAW Multitrack audio recording & editing. GPL licensed.

I do most of my audio work on linux and there is a world of Free audio and music related software available for it:

Sound & MIDI Software For Linux - I think that site is out of date but it can be a good starting point. Some of the software is cross platform, some is not.

I will add more info here as I get the time.
