Get Your Song on Staff Picks: Tips
Wed, Aug 6, 2008 08:46 AM CDT - Byraf
Getting your project selected for Staff Picks usually results in more traffic, more downloads, and more collaborators. I try to choose 11 new projects each week, although sometimes it's more like every two weeks.
Since Staff Picks appears on the home page, and because the home page is the first thing new visitors see (and because first-impressions are important), I try to choose projects that will "represent". If you're interested in getting selected, here are a few simple tips:
I look for projects that have at least two collaborators. After all, collaboration is what Kompoz is all about. The more tracks, the better.
Album art is SUPER important! I'm a visual person and I like the eye candy. Most importantly, album art looks nice on the home page.
I enjoy and welcome recommendations. Send me a PM if you think your project (or any other project) is ready for the home page.
I'm guilty of selecting songs that fall into my favorite genres, but I'm trying to branch out. So please nudge me towards the alternative, metal, and other stuff too.

Bagpipe headbanger ska seems to be growing in popularity, as is the ever popular surf guitar samba club beat.
