I Met a Kompozer!
Mon, Jun 23, 2008 07:18 PM CDT - Byraf
I flew out to LA yesterday, so I called Matt Kresling since I knew he lived in the area. Turns out he was only 6 miles from where I was, so we met for a quick drink. I can thus officially confirm that Matt is real. I'm still not sure about the rest of you.

Matt does have a look on his face like he is thinking "How do they find me? The crazy ones ALWAYS find me!"
:0)
Immediate EDIT: Not saying that Raf is crazy.. or did I? lol

It does seem that you look a bit happier to see Matt than he is to be have been found! Or maybe Matt's just busy working on his next song.

Matt is a great guy. We had a fun chat about Kompoz, politics, music, and video production. It would be great if I could meet every single one of you out there.

Hey Raf, if you come to visit Paris one day, I'll prove you I'm real too ;-)

Yes, Bjorn... I was wondering why Raf would take a picture of Matt with a complete stranger sitting right next to him. Raf, Dude!!!... you should have asked the guy in the blue shirt to take a picture of YOU sitting next to Matt ;O)

Raf asked me to send him a photo; I figured it was for the Kompoz CD. Imagine my surprise when I opened this post and saw how he'd photoshopped his face onto the body of my drummer. Geez, if he wanted to meet for a drink, he should have just asked. This is kind of weird.

Ha! Matt if I were going to photoshop my face anywhere, I would take the time to remove the bags under my eyes, remove a few wrinkles, and apply a better base tan. That's what they do in LA, right? It was great meeting you.

On the contrary, Raf, you did a great Photoshop job, your hunchback is barely visible, and you managed to both cover up the third eye and to straighten out your nose. The extra ear looks great too. Do you take orders for custom Photoshop jobs?
BTW, "base tan" is not an expression I think you want to admit that you know if you want to play with us rockers :)

Umm, Matt if yer lookin' for a country get-away, come up and see us some time. We're within spittin' distance of the 5 on the very top of the grapevine, last rest stop before the central valley, the very last mile of L.A. county. They'll never find you out here and you can live for months on berries and water in the forest...

Back in the day, a number of musicians whose music was reviewed in the back pages of AP (Alternative Press) decided it would be really cool to get together and put on a show. That was in 1996. The Wilmington Exchange Festival (WE Fest) is still going on annually where a bunch of underground, unsigned musicians get together to play shows with one another (for love--not promotion) and meet up with each other whom had been corresponding through the mails and tape swapping.
It would be nice to have a Kompoz open house somewhere...one in the US and one in Europe. It would be much cooler to attend that, then say, my 20th high school reunion (I just said no to that one this year!!!!!)
And hey...I live in Florida--isn't that the birthplace of Kompoz anyhow? Bring it here and we'll go to Sea World!
