Inspiration is everywhere

Every artist has the ability to create something extraordinary. Whether a work of art or a riff that just makes you dream. I wonder though, what's the spark? What ignites ideas that touches hearts?
For me it's pretty easy to find inspiration most times. There are certainly times where I am just blank with no ideas.
My girl friend is a concert pianist and we attended a faculty recitle at a florida university she attends. It was a memorable experience to say the least. These musicians are probably the best musicians I have ever heard. The music was pretensous and not so palletable to me, BUT that's not what matters in this case. I mean you need to have an appreciaction for the arts and I definately do. Anyway, the guest professor, reason for, and MC of the recitle mentioned how she found inspiration in everything even in traffic.
It's funny I really didn't understand what she said until I heard The Beast That Swallows Its Young by Matt a Kompozer here. The track is amazing. It's about our debter society. It wasn't a jazzy ragg time pianist mimmicing traffic sounds or social concepts, though I can appreciate it; it was a guy hammering a little wood instrument squeezing out a big mean sound.
What I love about Kompoz is that it is a true platform that allows people to collaborate of course but also, and more importantly for me now is that Kompoz is a well of inspiration.
So what inspires you to write music? Has Kompoz inspired you?

I spent a long time NOT writing songs. Now that I am writing, I get very inspired by other music. I'll often here a song somewhere that I admire and I want only to see if I can write one like it.

Me too. I think listening to other's music is a real inspiration.
