Kompoz

I have been a member of Kompoz for quite a while now but honestly I haven't participated that much. I had a couple songs posted and both got a couple tracks posted to them, but never went too far. I think part of that was me not staying on top of them. Well recently I posted another song. One I really like and it's been getting some attention. Bjorn jumped in and added a bass line, Billy has been playing around with strings and some lead riffs, Pascaloubien has added a beautiful piano part. I asked Rab to give a listen and he has kinda donned the Producer hat and has been giving great suggestions. It has been really cool watching it develop the way it has in the past week. It makes you realize how amazing this community is. I am a guitar player myself. I can kinda program drums and bass via my keyboard and fake it to a certain extent on keys, but to be able to come to a place like this and meet up with people that really know how to play those instruments can make a huge difference in how the song will sound when finished. And having more than one person with different mind sets can take a song places that you yourself would never have been able to imagine.
Anyway, just some thoughts I had going through my head today. Just wanted to share.
I love Kompoz. Hope it stays around a very long time.
Derek

I love reading "success stories" like this. Thanks for posting. I've been following "The Rush Closes In", and I like it a lot!

I absolutely second your blog Derek. I have had so much fun, and have learned so much about my self as a singer, and have actually improved, with some great tips from so many in this community. I have always felt so at "home" here, and very welcomed. The level of talent here never ceases to amaze me. My head spins sometimes with all the wonderful creations. Yes I hope Kompoz stays around forever, because I guarantee you, I will be a member as long as it stays around. :)
