Remote Control for Recording Software

Found this in the appstore today.
Allows for remote control of 32 channels for only $150.00 ;) There is a "Lite" version for 8 channels for 40.00 as well.
I might buy the lite version and let you all know how it works. This would be great for when I'm in the drum room and need to start/stop the recorder.

Interesting. I see that it works with ProTools and Apple?s Logic. Can't wait to hear how it works out.

Saw this a while back . . . many of the reviews were viscous. But I'm very interested in its potential.

Yeah they are taking a beating for the price point. People seem very set that it's not worth what they are asking. I DO know that in the past I've spent over 200.00 on just ONE plugin that for the most part sounds like it does nothing;)
I'm also looking into a Tranzport Wireless controller for 199.00 and it has WAY more functionality than this. Decisions, decisions...

Mike... the Tranzport is brilliant. I had to give it back to its rightful owner after many subtle hints to buy my own. Damn !!!

looks good michael.
Rab i remember you recommending the tranzport to me - i thought - oh, there is something that will do this - except i don't get on with wireless..sounds starange i know.
but mike do you need to be able to see what you are stopping and starting...see my post in the forum under hardware and software - 'kompoz friendly hardware' - if you had a foot pedal to start and stop recording - once you knew it worked okay - surely you could hear that it had started and stopped. this may save money and could be programmed for other things too.
although i see how using the iphone as a remote is kind of killing two birds with one stone.

Well currently I have a second computer monitor in the drum room with a wireless mouse. It's a pain though because I have to switch computer outs and the range on the mouse is spotty.. I was looking to improve and simplify at the same time.

Forget IR....Why not use an RF keyboard? I've been using one for about a year now and it's great. Plug the thumb-sized receiver into your USB port and that's it. Works up to 100 feet away and through walls. I have a remote monitor in my drum iso room and use it to control everything....built in mouse touchpad and keyboard. Runs on 4 AAA batteries (I use rechargeables....last about 2 months with "daily" use)
Model: Adesso WKB 4000US
ABOUT US $85.00
I also use it to control a laptop plugged into a HD monitor.....surf, video teleconf, presentations, etc. lots of bang for the buck.

Well I got a .. ahem.."Demo" version of the software. It works well although I really can't say that it's worth the 149.99 asking price. For my needs a big start/stop/record button would suffice..this has a lot of extra stuff I'll never use remotely. It does work smoothly however.
