Updates: Release Notes
Sun, Oct 5, 2008 • 04:06 PM CDT - By raf

Besides the big change I mentioned in my previous post, here's a summary of other enhancements made over the weekend.

We made cosmetic changes to the project overview page.  The page now sports larger album art and a MP3 player over the art itself.  We reorganized the content to make it easier to see updates and all project members.

We enhanced the Member Search function to show the more active members first.  So for example, if you're searching for a quitar player, the system will now show guitar players with the most contributions first.  Other sorting options apply too.

We enhanced the playback logic so you will get fewer "Sorry, not found" messages.  The system will now play non-mixdowns too if no mixdown is present.

It's very pretty now and easier to navigate. Those little drop-down menu's are a big help too :o)

That's good, but the Play button in the middle of album art is not pleasant to me. It spoils some nice pictures.

I agree Roman, but Raf is hopefully fixing that.

Great Job Raf! I know we ask a lot and you never stop improving Kompoz! Lets all give Raf a nice cold beer or something. Thanks Raf!

A nice cold beer sounds good! Thanks for the feedback. I'm kinda surprised there's no revolution (or even small groans) about the "audition" change, as noted in the previous post. I guess that means it's a welcomed change. Yes?

It all looks nice except for the play button thing. It really does detract from the album art.

First things first: I LOVE the new project page layout, I think it is much better structured and makes much better use of the screen space. I have worked for a little while (25 years) with software design, and Raf has done an incredible job on the design of this site, everything is easy to understand, easy to navigate and every time a change is introduced, it is a real enhancement. Hats Off!

Now for the bitching and moaning section:

1. Am I blind, or have the liner notes vanished?
2. I concur with the comments about the play button. Would be VERY nice to have a CD-player style strip right under the album art (stop, pause, play, rew, ffd)

Well done Raf!

Love the new layout navigation is much better.
Large sized artwork is brilliant except the play button in the center which everyone else mentioned and i have to agree with them.
Nice job though it just gets better and better

Yes, the transparent button is definitely better.

Transparent button is better but i am siding with bjorn's idea of a
"CD-player style strip right under the album art (stop, pause, play, rew, ffd)"
I like to express my art just as much as the music and the button just detracts from the images.
Textures of colour are an equal to texture of sound it's all art and expression but you would not have sounds in the music to say you can press buttons so i vote it should not be in the colour either.
!!! VOTE BUTTONLESS ARTWORK !!!
