Joe and John: Another Kinda Love Fri, Apr 3, 2009 10:01 AM CDT - Byraf
As a few of you have noted, the Joe Bonamassa contest track has a bit of classic rock history. The song itself was written before Joe was even born. Joe has provided us with his artistic interpretation of the John Mayall tune Another Kinda Love, which appeared on the album A Hard Road, released by Universal Motown Records Group in 1967. In the Kompoz contest announcement, producer Kevin Shirley hints at the connection when he states that "we later did another solo on the end of the record, as we wanted to get more of a classic early Fleetwood Mac vibe." As you probably know, John McVie was a member of the John Mayall Bluesbreakers, and he, of course, went on to form Fleetwood Mac the same year the John Mayall album was released.
If you have not heard the original, do yourself a favor and buy the album. At the very least, buy the track (I'm not making any money off this). It's an awesome tune, and a solid piece of blues-rock history. Pay tribute to the band and to Joe and create something awesome!

My bro still has the vinyl...
I would listen to it when he wasn't home...then he'd kick my azz for messing with his records when he got home....some strange reason he would know.
Dunbar by the way was a kick azz drummer!
