Line 6 iPhone App Announced at WWDC Wed, Jun 10, 2009 09:46 PM CDT - Byraf
Line 6 and Planet Waves demonstrated an interesting iPhone App at the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). "Rig Remote" gives guitarists the freedom to control Line 6 Variax digital modeling guitars and Vetta II digital modeling amplifiers with an iPhone or iPod Touch running the new OS 3.0.
According to reports, the iPhone display and touch screen make it simple to scroll, choose and adjust models of amps, guitars, pickups, pickup placement, alternate tuning and more. Guitarists can easily save their favorite settings and apply them to any Variax guitar or Vetta II amplifier.
so we should buy one of these and taper it to the guitar?...mmm wait, would need the correct amp too,no? :)

I can see this one's generated as much interest as what I had for lunch for the last week.

I own a Variax guitar, bass, and Pro XT and used to own a Vetta II.
The programs used to control them via computer (Gearbox, Podfarm, Workbench) are difficult enough to use on a large screen with a mouse. I have serious doubts as to the practicality of them being on an iPhone. Somewhere along the lines it seems like someone said "Everything should be on the iPhone" and they took it seriously. Some are truly great (4 Track Recorder, Pro Remote) and others are less than stellar.
