  New Staff Picks
Tue, Jun 30, 2009 • 08:05 AM CDT - By raf

Check out the new Staff Picks published today.  Hey, this might be a first (a new low?) for Kompoz: two songs with a nun featured in the project art.  Tongue-and-cheek, everyone -- don't send me hate mail.

The projects in this list are amazing.  I've said it before and I'll keep saying it as long as it's true -- the quality of the music being produced here at Kompoz (by regular people from all over the world!) just keeps getting better and better.  Congratulations to all.  Thanks for making Kompoz such an awesome experience.

Not only are they nuns. One tune is punching nuns and another one has a nun spanking. hmmmm this says a lot about your psyche, Raf...

My psyche? You're the one that wrote the song!

Ah but I did not select it :). I also have songs with flowers and such in the image :)

I advise you both to seek counseling. However, if either of you are currently visiting a counselor, I advise you to stop because it doesn't appear to be working.

The way I see it, you can either go to confessional or punch a nun. There's no gray area here - only gray avatars.

@Brannon - There's a song in there somewhere. BTW, color photography hadn't been invented when my picture was taken.

How much does it cost to get selected as a staff pick. lol

The last time someone asked that question Raf said there were three major determining factors.
1) Good Song
2) Have collaborators (a great song makes this less important)
3) Album Art (Again the song makes this less important)

He also takes suggestions, even if you are suggesting you own song.

@Sid - "Punching Nuns" is already taken, but I'm still considering "Have You Seen My Boxing Gloves"? or "How I Met Sister Sarah".

I thought she was a waitress
at the diner down the street
but Sarah was a Sadist
Who nailed my hands and feet

I thought I had experience
That I had seen it all
But then I found my tongue
Was stapled to the wall

Ohh Sister Sarah it hurts so bad
You're the meanest nun I ever had...

etc

Brannon
  Wed, Jul 1, 2009 @ 07:29 AM CDT

If theres another nun like you
your the meanest of the two

She said we're gonna play a game
and I'm gonna win
Name of the game: Livin' in sin

I said if we're livin in sin
lets get down to business
afterwards both of us can pray for forgivess

Nothing more fun than a nun with a gun
She's aiming to stun so I can't even run

There is more to say
but I'll have to wait
I have to go to work
and cannot take the bait

And here I am, being a jerk
Keeping my buddy from doing his work
Don't worry my friend, I will handle the Sista
When I'm done with her, she'll be calling me Mister

So off with the gloves

SISTA SARAH

Sista Sarah, with Kompozers at your feet
Wonder how you manage to never meet
Who finds the artwork?..he's a little bent
No, don't think these sadists are heaven sent.

Friday he arrives without guitar case
Sunday, Bjorn is sleeping with a nun
Monday's child has just turned up his Ampeg
See how they run!

Sista Sarah lying on the bed
Listen to Kompozer's playing in your head.

so what defines a good song whether or not it agrees with the click.

you have to put your cloths on backwards and walk down a railroad track in reverses. Then you will see the Kompoz ghost and then you have to tell him how many Nuns have spanked you in the last year. You send the recording of your conversation to Raf for confirmation on authentication. Based upon how many licks you have gotten gives you points. The song with the highest points gets picked as a staff pick. I hope this helps out, if you have any more questions requiring useless information feel free to ask.. :)

gee can't I have a little fun with Bjorn too. sorry if i came off as being hostile. most people don't get me at times heck i don't get me Most of the time. what i say doesn't matter or i would be shacked up with Pamela Anderson eating PB&J sandwiches and drinking grape koolaid.

it's ok Johnny. I thought the LOL was a give away that I was having fun. on a serious note there are a few great musicians that haven't been getting the notoriety they deserve. I would like to say what an awesome job these guys and gals have been doing Sirwilly and his gal Jan, scottland, sweepmaster, wire and wood,Tracy, acoustic, grampy music, Erik, Brannon. I know i am missing a few people but these people get a standing ovation from me in the music that they have created. I know a lot of us tend to lean towards the heavier rock, but IMO it's kick ass. awesome job people. steps off of soap box.

We hard rockers have always been the down trodden. But it's self perpetuating. The more we are dismissed, the hard and louder we get, and the more we get dismissed. At this point I'm one step from becoming The Satanic Grimace of Death Iron. Not quite Iron Skillet, which is the final enevitable outcome.

Iron Skillet, Iron Skillet, we're gonna get ya, you're gonna feeeeeel it!!! (yelled at the top of my lungs doing the old Dio "devil horns sign")

I think Bjorn's nun also likes doing squats in a cucumber field.

isn't this the way that all crops are picked in Sweden. I just feel bad for the ones that pick the watermelon fields.. :)

I agree with Sid but I think stage diving may be band in some countries so some kompozians may feel excluded.

My metal thrasher is top of the member list. How am I going to have a bad attitude now? somebody insult me so that I may bang my head again. Seriously, this very disheartening.

Nevermind, I'll write a song called "Andy Griffith Death Grimace.
