Google Text-To-Speach API Slip? Mon, Dec 14, 2009 01:57 PM CST - Byraf
Google recently added a text-to-speech button to its free translate service. There's no official API (Application Programming Interface) for the text-to-speech service, but one programmer noticed that anyone can access the service in the same way Google does -- through a simple URL.
Try it! Simply copy the URL http://translate.google.com/translate_tts?q=TEXT, and paste it into your browser. Change the "TEXT" portion to whatever you want it to say and you'll get back an MP3 file. Example: Try http://translate.google.com/translate_tts?q=I+love+kompoz .
This could be fun for generating MP3 files for use in your next Kompoz tune (like this one, and this one).
