Thanks guys.
Cory's issue is legit. He is the only one who actually played this live. Thats not him playing along. Its him playing. See his video above.
When I get my wind back, I'm going to do a new edit.

The Legendary Texan is much more Legendary in B&W (or is that sepia? - so artsy-fartsy) besides his screen-savers are makin me dizzy :)
3rd time watching and it's still OUTSTANDING!!!

Awesome job!
One suggestion....this is great advertising for Kompoz.com as it literally shows what we're doing here. Maybe you could put a little note at the beginning or end of the video like, "Brought together at Kompoz.com"? Of course, on YouTube you can do this without uploading a new video by using annotations.

Nah your cut is fine B.. Dont change a thing.
Playing live yeah. Don't know any different.

You're absolutely right JP. I'm going to add the actual logo in the next edit.

both you guys did a hell of a job.... I really like em both. Some sincere appreciation to both of you. So is there a concept evolving here where perhaps a song we do with the intention of video, the take we tape is the take we post. It would be cool to do a "live" version of a song like that.

Good idea Mike.

Thanks to all for the kind words about our song, to Cory and Brannon for their hard work on the video and the rest of the Virtual Unknowns for being a great group of musicians to play along with.

We have to do more stuff like this...it is too cool. Nicely done all and this was as inspiring to watch as Kresling's fabulous video of late.
I will need to start warming up my Vegas software and figure out how to use my webcam to shoot some stuff like this. Did you use sync tones on the video's sub-clip's audio tracks so that editing the video parts was easier? Just curious!
Nicely done...or did I say that already...can't say it enough...fabulous job.

I've posted an edit, adding a mention of Kompoz.com at the end and a few other changes. Thanks for featuring the blog Raf.
@Spin -This was made with iMovie on a Mac. Syncing everything was quite a chore. iMovie is cool, but it wan't meant for making music videos. The process required a lot of work-arounds and compromises.

This is just SO good, I had to come back and post again. BRAVO !!!
Sun, Jan 17, 2010 @
07:59 AM CST
Understood. I have Vegas on my machines and what I thought would work is to make sure when I shoot video I include the sync track and play the whole piece. Then you can sync up all of your raw video tracks before you cut them up into sub-clips for the various shots. Not as good as time code but a solution we here at Kompoz are familiar with. Since Vegas and Sound Forge are basicall they same audio engines you can easily sync up multiple video tracks using the sync tone and them blow away the extra audio tracks and substitute it with the mastered mix.
Gonna try this sooner or later!
Sun, Jan 17, 2010 @
08:03 AM CST
I think that one video equivalent of a sync tone is the clapper.... (slate board?)
You have a visual and audio to line up.

I have teamed up with Sven-Martin to try to out-cute Brendon, and we believe we have a winner. We thought: some naked female beauty uually works.

anyone done a green screen shoot for something like this and put everyone in a common scene?
Sun, Jan 17, 2010 @

The problem is that not everyone has a green screen. In Texas, where Brandon lives, everything is brown.

Hey MDK, I didn't know their erl was brown down that way.

Erl is dark brown. Disregard what you've heard about black gold.
Sun, Jan 17, 2010 @
09:08 AM CST
So MDK, is the Texas Tea a tall tale too?
Sun, Jan 17, 2010 @
09:09 AM CST
Tea is brown, so it is logical to assume that tale has some truth to it. In any case, git away from there. Californy is the place you ought to be.

That is fantastic! great song, great playing, only one question Brannon, why didn't you do this for "The Bacon Song"?
Sun, Jan 17, 2010 @
10:35 AM CST
In my next video I am going to be laying on a rug, cooing and swatting at a bacon toy. I will also clap gleefully when you call me Bwannon.
@Spin - I don't know anything about Vegas. I would assume it is more powerful than the software I used. A sync track would have done me no good. I can see how it could with the right software.

@Mike, I've been meaning to ask...what's in the bottle?
Sun, Jan 17, 2010 @
07:42 PM CST
my bottle is an important piece of equipment
In this case.... http://www.newoldlompoc.com/lompoc_beer.html
C-Note Imperial Pale Ale
To call C-Note very hoppy would be an understatement. It's brewed with the seven "C" hops (Crystal, Cluster, Cascade, Chinook, Centennial, Columbus and Challenger) and pushes the bitterness limit to 100 International Bitterness Units. 6.9% abv. 100 IBU
I'll feature a different selection on each video

Very nice Bill, I see you did that video before the sex change!
Mon, Jan 18, 2010 @
10:26 AM CST
Look. Billy made a video too!
Mon, Jan 18, 2010 @
10:32 AM CST
Billy made videos when you were still in diapers, young man!
Jokes aside, it is obvious how much more professional your video looks and I think it is nice to see the development.
Mind you: we didn't have the luxury of having everyone on 110 volts and 60 Hz. Billy did some amazing phase-compensation on the flux capacitors and also had to work with at least 4 time zones. The count-in was 5 hours later for Marty, so he had to start playing already on the Wednesday.
We are just jealous because your video looks so much better :)
Rock On

Raf - with all this interest in video... Any chance we can get a special "video" track type for our Kompoz projects? Maybe we could even have the video as the featured project and have it run in the project image area?
Just a thought.

The secret is that it is an effect that came as part of the software I used to edit my part the video. I'm really standing in front of a plain grey wall. I shall add Air Drumming King to my list of talents as soon as Raf adds that as a option.
