A Parade of Alices Sun, Jun 24, 2012 02:01 AM UTC - ByChrystalKafka
Dedicated, in loving memory, to the Alices who never returned, and in celebration of those who did -
In the world of Kompoz all natural laws are suspended - nothing is as it seems - we are all "through the looking glass"! ~ Nigel Robinson
My unending gratitude goes to everyone who had a part in creating these giddy feelings of success: from the casual listener to the nimble-fingered liker, to the crafty comment-maker to the mad-genius muso to the masterful mixer. You have all made this a dizzyingly wonderful experience!
POOR ALICE WAS LOST
I hope you can tolerate a few, short words about Alices. The original concept track was a gift from Andy Baker (Wholetone) a year or two back, when he offered a heart-wrenching guitar track he called "I Couldn't Stop You." I worte the vocals for Like Alices but tragically, the project was abandoned when its files were destroyed in a computer disaster.
I've kept this hidden away along with some others until just recently. Will Krause (DistortedMinds) was the guardian angel who stood by Alice and me, and whose friendship and help for which I will always be grateful.
ALICE WAS ALL MIXED UP
The individual mixes that were contributed to the "Like Alices" project are each worthy of signature title and publication. I can't get over the talent and creativity that poured from these fellows. And the humor and friendship they've bestowed is some of the most love and fun I've had in Kompoz.
The cast of visionaries and talents who made the magic in this project (in alphabetical order):
Andy Baker (Wholetone) - Original Song Concept
James Billo - Humor, friendship, fun
Mauro Clerici - Lead Guitar/Rhythm Guitar
Francesco Corrias (Homedrummer) - Drums
Dan Grubbs (DantheMan2) - Bass/Lead Guitar/Ukulele/Mixing/Mastering
Chrystal Kafka - Melody/Lyrics/Vocs/Arrangement
Will Krause (DistortedMinds) - Rhythm Guitar/Arrangement/Mother
Jonathan Legg (Bluemeanie72) - Strings/Arrangement
Tim Rose (ecopunk) - Midi/Arrangment/Mixing/Mastering

- LIKE ALICES - This is the track we asked for when Will and I first prayed to the gods of Kompoz. The bountiful mixes that follow are manna from the very same gods (and gifted Kompozers.)
Dan Grubbs - Mixing/Mastering/Fine tuning
Chrystal Kafka - Melody/Lyrics/Vocs/Arrangement
Will Krause - Rhythm Guitar/Arrangement/Mother
Jonathan Legg - Midi/Strings/Arrangement
Ian Pellow - Operatic, Growling Contralto]
Tim Rose - Missing Drum track!!/Blankie

- ALICE IN A JAZZ BAR - Raymond DeMeriden stumbled upon Alice when he tumbled into a back alley bar in New York. He says he was lucky to have his cell phone (and his life) to capture this image and sound.
Credits Unknown - The musos slipped out the back door before Ray could ask them their names. (That fellow holding the teapot looks familiar, isn't that James Billo? hmmmmm....)

can i make a suggestion...how about putting the main text of the blog in the main blog window not the summary..this way it'll collapse and won't be so long on the page?

Hi, thanks for the suggestion. I'm sure it's a good one. I'm such a noob to this that I have really no idea what it means...ha! Despite this small handicap, I'll try and sort it out. Cheers!

when you post a blog, you have three boxes; title, blog text, and more details...blog text will be the summary or beginning of your blog as you want it to apear on the blog page.
use the more details space to post the bulk of your blog if its long,
