From the Motor City and my niece's band The Skylit Letter. Reba Gusco, lead vocals.
Added their ReverbNation Page for those who might want to hear a couple more. Thanks for the comments!! Obviously a little biased myself.

No Autotune for my niece.
She does this stuff well but blues really is her forte. She can bring you to tears singing an old Billy Holiday song with the same power she rips up the rock tunes.
Thanks for the compliments gents...I will pass them along to her and the boys.

The boys sound great, your niece is excellent and I really like the video. Were you behind the camera, Spin?

@ Coney - No no! :0)
I would love to take credit but they are their own deal and I am just a proud uncle. I have had the privilege to watch her grow up, the drummer is her long time boy friend, and the bass player Nick is my son's best friend.
I'd like to think I have helped along the way but I really don't want to take any credit for their hard work...especially in a business that hasn't gotten any easier over the years!

@Choronzon - Love to but she is so busy now with this band and an increased amount of touring the mid-West it is hard to get her into my studio at all.
I have some projects (not on Kompoz I am afraid) that I wrote for her with some additional pieces in the works so perhaps someday I will finish those and at least share them here.
That is if she doesn't take off and become too busy for old Uncle Funkle (her pet name for me).

Now they'd be a good band to mix!!
Brilliant stuff, Mark. I've watched this about a dozen times :o)

If you look close in the background you can see my brother-in-law Michael with a big broad grin...proud papa.
@Rab - You betcha. And I think you could do a better job than the shop they used on this particular CD. Nonetheless they are taking this on their own and really, even with two uncles (myself and my other BIL Bob Gardner...drummer with The Root Doctor) have both the track records, contacts, and other stuff a couple of willing uncles could throw in to help.
BUT NO... :0) We were the same way when we were doing it old school. Just makes me all the prouder of them.

Just for grins...here is the other "Uncle Funkle's" band The Root Doctor. My niece has a very musical family you might say.

Skylit Letter ROCKS! That Deceiving Your Own Life song is very very good. I thought it was a cover at first. It just sounds radio ready.
The one shot performance is impressive.

Mark;
Your brother-in-law looks like a man who's daughter married a millionaire, graduated from Harvard and discovered a cure for a horrible disease all on the same day!

You gotta give the guy a lot of credit.
He has foregone almost everything to give her opportunities and supports her every step of the way. Not many kids get the kind of ongoing support for a career in the music business from their parents that she gets (her Mom too).
It sure isn't his type of music but he grins like that cat in the hat.
Like I said a proud papa!

I hope they get rich and famous!
Hey, I left a comment on their ReverbNation page and Chris the guitarist wrote to me to thank me. I told him that Uncle Funky turned me on to the video.

Had to look. Is that Pabst Blue Ribbon? I thought they outlawed that in Michigan!
Thanks for the compliment on the band though...I think they drink Scotch.

Finally a moment to sit down an listen and watch! I couldn't help but think of Bette Midler singing in the film "The Rose"...your niece has that same raw power and emotion that Midler did in that film!
Good playing by the band, too! Take 'em on the road!
