I am sure that there are other Propellerhead-heads here.
Who else uses Reason 6? Or earlier versions of Reason and/or Record?

I'm one. A version of Reason, called Reason adapted, came with my original purchase of Pro Tools and I've used it a lot since. I'm about to upgrade to Reason 6 in the next couple months, too. I think its an awesome tool to have in the virtual kit bag. And some of the new features are kickin'! Its one of my "go to" VI's for sure - though calling Reason a VI doesn't do it justice...its more like a virtual studio within a studio!

After looking at it for some time, I recently went for Reason 6 having been tipped by the inclusion of audio and the addition of Neptune, Alligator, The Echo, etc. And it sounds great (love Thor!), of course.
It took a while to adapt (have previously used Ableton Live and Reaper and now on a Mac have the ridulously cheap Logic Pro - so now trying to learn Reason & Logic!) - but I now find Reason quite intuitive to use. I'm still a bit of a novice but using previous DAWs helps to cut down the learning curve....
It would be nice to see the My Other Synth Is A Thor group here used a bit more though. Plenty of joiners, not so much discussion!

I have been using Reason since 2.0. Really started using it much more when you could record using RECORD (brilliant name)... and together with Neptune (and unison, synth chorusing, etc.), I could actually sing (well sort of) to add vocals to my tracks. I always liked the whole rack idea and ability to repatch effects as needed.
Reason 6.0 is excellent as far as I am concerned. Works perfectly for me. I love it!

Theres a Reason 6? damn!! I haven t learnt to use the magority of what reason 4 has to offer. I rewire reason to protools and it gets a flogging. Im an ametuer so I use it for pretty much everything accept bass, guitars and realistic sounding drums. I dont know how Id get by without it now that I think about it, its an awsome peice of software. As Stik sais, its a shame the 'My Other Synth Is A Thor group' doesnt get much lovin.

You could use it for everything now, as it records multitrack audio, and it is as easy to work with audio as it is to work with MIDI. I used to use SONAR and older versions of Reason, but as soon as Record came out (and finally Reason 6 which combines both) I switched to using it exclusively.
I also created this thread to look for collaborators who may at some point want to trade Reason files back and forth for a different way to collaborate.
