Ok, I suppose I don't get it. I got the hang of looking around here for stuff to get into BUT while using the advanced search (looking for stuff that needs bass) 90% of the stuff that comes up already has bass. What's the deal? Are folks just not updating thier projects? Are they laying down temp lines? What's the skinny?

I must admit, it is a bit frustrating to listen to 100 songs (from the list "looking for bass") and most already have it. Kinda feeling like a waste of time. I could have been practicing for the last 2 hours instead of hearing other's bass lines.

Would someone help a noob get the understanding?

 Thanks y'all,

   Dan

You're right. Most of us are too lazy to update.

I say watch the new projects coming up and get in there if you want to get known...

On good tracks things move pretty quickly. Tracks that don't grab attention get buried very quickly. Is this not real life?

It works best to be proactive not reactive round here I guess...

Copy that. I was able to find a few today :)

I really really really wish folks would update what they are looking for in the projects.

Thanks for your input,

Until people start updating regularly, after the search, go to the tracks page and look for bass seps already uploaded?

That's kinda how I've been going about it Zotz. It's still pretty time consuming. I think that the guys that run this site should set up a click box on a track that will say something like "this track has been accepted as a bass (or guitar or whatever) and update the project to reflect it.

Thankee fer your input all the same brother!

You can look to see if the current bass track is colored blue in the tracks tab(no longer an audition). It would be easier if it said that up front though. Just create a better bass track and upload it anyway. In the worst case people will hear you work and maybe you'll get some invites next time. Just my 2 cents. Good luck!

What would be really good is if there was a way of only having the sections open for tracks that you have specified.  So, what I mean is - you've asked for bass and drums - so the only sections open for upload are bass and drums - then, when a track 'goes blue' as in, 'audition accepted' it disappears from the wanted list..

If you selected 'anything and everything' all sections would be open...

I'm definitely as guilty as anyone of not updating projects as tracks are accepted.  I like the idea of selecting what a track is being accepted as when it is accepted.  Not so much the idea of only allowing people to contribute things that are currently on the want list.

Maybe we should formulate an idea and reconvene over in the suggestions forum.
