I echo Mark's comment. I spent quite a bit of time with a few of these folks back in the day. I was fortunate enough to have played with Narada Micheal Walden (he was a year older than me back in Kalamazoo, MI) prior to him going west and eventually joining Mahavishnu Orchestra. Kazoo was a hot bed of Fusion back then and we all cut our Jazz teeth throughout the brief heyday that Fusion had in the mid 1970s.

The Ann Arbor Jazz Festival was the place to be back in those days.

Good luck with your efforts...I'll be interested in hearing your music!

Nothing seems to happen but I still think its an amazing idea !!!!

So I wanna make a suggestion to a project for a start.

My suggestion is that we´re starting up makin a cover of Return to Forever´s song "Senot Mouse". That song is familier to most of the fusion interssed musicans. Al DiMeola did that tune on his album "Casino" to.

Return to Forever seems to be a fusionband we all like listening to..

It´s a great song whit a written head/theme that is played unison of the keyboardist and the guitarist and then plenty of space to improvise for everybody.

The bassline is quite simple in the beginning playin a hot backgound for the head. Its easier to hear and pick out the notes for the bassline on Al DiMeolas version of this song. But its the same line in Chick Coreas original idea.

My suggestion is that we start whit the bassline and drums, then we´ll do the head. It will be a good start for us to have great fun whit when doing improvisations after the song head. When that is done the bass and drumplayer will do new tracks also improvising and doing their thing.

I think this will do the trick for the amazing fusion outfit "Spock´s Refection" you want to start, DavidLee. When we has begun this, or another project we has decided togheter-why don´t you, DavidLee, start a group whit that name - Spock´s Reflection ??? A place where we can chat and write group and private messages to each other about the projects that are involved to  Spock´s Reflection.
