I can't seem to get any FB sharing links to kick. I only have one system to test on. Please someone verify for me please. Tried both Firefox and IE.

Oh good thanks Jimmy! Perhaps a real bug then.

I believe that they (fb) changed their api to no longer allow the kompoz player to work as it did. I filed a bug on that awhile back. Subsequent to that I mailed sanger asking wtf? After that, the links went to javascript::noop() calls.
So I imagine the links have been made inactive until the issues have been sorted out.
Be nice to hear officially, of course...

Looking into it. But until then, there is a workaround. The FB button within the player works. The FB outside the player does not.

My previous attempt at using that button failed. It ended up a direct download link.

Right - there's no way to get the player in facebook now - the best you can get is a link back to the project track. I mean, I can add a link - but it was a great advertisement for kompoz for people to be able to play the tunes right in fb.

I made a few changes to get facebook sharing working. I actually made two short-term changes, and plan to make a long-term change shortly. The two short-term changes are:
1- I added a Facebook "Like" button on the project overview page, and also on the track detail pages.
2- I added a "Share" link on the track detail pages. When you click that link, the page will expand to show Facebook, Twitter, and other options.
If you use the "Like" button (#1 above), Facebook will simply post "So-and-so likes this song". But it does not include the player.
If you use the Facebook button found under the "Share" link (#2 above), it will embed the player within Facebook. This works OK, but it is not ideal, in that it opens the player in a new window, rather than inline within your Facebook message. It's much better than before, but still needs improvement -- which brings me to the long-term solution: I will be implementing Facebook's "Open Graph" API so that any link posted to a Kompoz track (whether through a button on Kompoz or a simple shared link from anywhere else), will include the player. I will be working on this next week.

OK, I think it's all working now. The Kompoz player should play within Facebook! Give it a try. Blog posted here.
