Hi dudes !! (and Aa-Uu)

Have bought a new PC iCore i7 3.4 GHz, 8 MB Ram with Win 7 in 64 bits.

The problem is my actual soundcard "ESI Quatafire 610" doesn't have the drivers for win 7 - 64 bits !!

ESI is technically not able to developp these drivers.

Now, I've to buy a new Soundcard:

I'm thinking something like Motu 828 Mk3 Firewire

Thoughts ??

I use the PreSonus FP10.  It's firewire.  Recently, I've begun having problems with the firewire interface to the computer.   It takes a few resets to get the external box to receive a good clock sync with the machine.  Apparently, this is a common problem with firewire interfaces over time.   Many new machines today are not using firewire... especially mobile machines.  Either USB2 or 3... or there is a new optical interface called Thunderbolt that's insanely fast.  Mac is using it on their newest machines.

When I purchace my next interface, it will likely be one of these over firewire.  Thunderbolt interfaces are still in development, so that may be longer than your time horizon.

If you're purchasing for the next few years of use, it's something to consider.

Nice choice, Pascal.

Lots of flexibility. It also looks like a good interface for drummers who have a console and microphones.

Have fun when it arrives :o)
