Recent college grad, radio DJ and laptop composer residing in the Midwestern USA. Currently feeling the influence of UK dubstep/grime scene and NYC breaks in my electronic work, but I always find myself coming back to independent pop/rock acts like Liars and The Blow as my main inspiration in terms of composition and sound. Experience: 2 years bassist in punk rock band, 3 years live radio djing w/ Ableton Live, 1 year in live electronic music project. Equipment: I have a cheap Ibanez bass which has been reduced to only the bottom 3 strings, an old acoustic guitar which has suffered a similar fate, a shitty Roland MC-303 groovebox which mostly just functions as a MIDI controller at this point, 100watt bass amp, and some circuit-bent kids keyboards. I've only got two mics and they aren't worth crap, so I mostly record direct-input from the amp into my Toshiba. Software: Reason, Audacity, Ableton Live, Fruityloops. None of these has particularly good real-time recording capabilities, so I generally have to chop up whatever's coming in to make it fit tempo and rhythm. (Sync tones be damned.)
