I have been playing guitar as a hobby since I was about 14 (now 30), it was forced upon me by my parents when I decided school sports was not my interest. Since then it's been a Zen sort of activity, a way to put my mind in another zone. I've never been in a band and this website is the only place I have ever done anything musically with another person, although remotely. My knowledge of the finer points to music is sparse (more like non existent), a topic I hope to improve on.

My gear is comprised of a Schecter six string electric with a Roland Digital Cube amp and I recently picked up an Ibanez 5-string bass with an Ashdown amp. My recordings are through a mic put to the cone so I get the sound of the amp and it eliminates the noise inherent in a 110V line (such as electric motor ticks from the fridge). My newest addition is an Edirol UA-25 USB interface which has a nice clear sound and as far as I can tell no latency.

As for influences, that’s rather eclectic. I listen to everything from funk jazz and the Grateful Dead to Type O Negative and Fear Factory. Lately my favorite band/composer has been "Shawn Lee's Ping Pong Orchestra". Really, genre doesn’t matter, as long as its good.

Anyway, I joined this site to improve my playing and to have fun learning to compose with others and to do something creative with my evenings rather than watch TV. So far, its been rather addictive.

Remember, life is a lot more fun when you’re still alive.
