JOCA Hi, my name is John, but most people call me Johnno. I'm a 41yr old drummer from Australia, and have been playing drums since I was about 8yrs old. I only started writng and playing other instruments within the last 10- 15 yrs, as necessary. I've played as a drummer in several local bands over the years, and also formed a few, but unfortunatly I still need a normal job to pay the bills, so it's mainly a hobbie now, although I still have alot of unfinished songs I would like to see finished and I still love playing. Also have songs that I finished but never got recorded properly. Thats why I decided to try this. At the moment I'm mainly looking for is people to improve on what I've already got, EG; Producer/ Engineer to get better sound quality, Guitarist to improve guitar tracks & add solos where needed, but most of all I need a Singer; coz I can't sing to save myself!!!. (Have'nt put any up yet, but I will eventually; getting time to work on them is a big factor). I'm also looking forward to joining in on some online projects also, and starting new ones from scratch. |
Influences I have been influenced by so many bands over the years there really is too many to mention, but here are some I either like listening to or like playing; It's not always the same. In THE 70s I liked Wings, Dr Hook, Alice Cooper, The Sweet, and I was playing (learning) Queen, Elton John, Neil Diamond etc... In THE 80s I liked alot of top 40 stuff but also, Kiss, Cold Chisel, The Cure, John Cougar, The Angels, Midnight Oil, etc.. and was playing much the same. In THE 90s I was listening to all of the above with the additon of bands like, Nivana, Offspring, Greenday, Matchbox20, Greenday,and was playing everything from Otis Redding, Elvis, to Offspring,ZZ Top,The Black Crows, with abit of Led Zep & Hendrix thrown in too etc... These days it's still all of the above plus bands like Powderfinger, Silverchair, but I also like people and bands like Dixie Chicks, Pink, Avril Lavigne. It really depends what mood I'm in. Now I tend to play mostly originals, but other than that, almost anything; However I can't help having a soft spot for playing John Cougar songs.
