I Was a 80s Kid and am a strong Advocate for Lita Fords efforts to bring back the 80s. I grew up in the San Fernando valley outside of L.A. so the hair metal days are my seen. As a kid i use to love going to a place called the Teen center. Thay had a BMX trac there and a disco hall. Of course That was the 70s. But there was talant at that BMX trac. We just did nt know what kind.

 I use to wacth the Guys and there Free style play and think WOW if i could that. That would be so cool.  After watching the guys do there thing, We would go to the Disco and throw bottles at them, danceing. "Man that was some kind of fun". Just a bunch of white kids (Me and my brothers being the only ones of color. We are Dutch/ Indos and we could pass for Mexican.) Just hanging out. One day someone came by with some other guys and blew away that trac. Bunch of guys from L.A. they road thier bikes all the way there, And if you been to L.A. You would know how far that is. Thats crazy!!!!!! The one thing that got me though was this black kid. A crazy Mother Fucker that could ride. Who would of thought this in a white boys game. That was cool to me. We all can mix and we all can come out ahead if we want to.

 When the 90's came , "Fuck the later 90's with Narvanna And that shit". A band came out that was hot. Were Talking G-N-R. I suppose They were together long before the 90s, but i have never heard of them. One guy that stood out was this guy with a top hat. He Played like like a Mother Fucker, And of course AXLE. with his range and all. I thought there we go again another Black guy showing off. But when i got closer to the stage i realized something . Thats crazy black guy, i know him , Thats the kid At the BMX trac. Yes! he later became Slash. Ive even worked for him later in life, I installed his B.A. (Burgerlar alram) Never letting know that i knew him at one time. He d might think i wanted something. I wish i could tell him he was a great site to see at the Bmx trac. That not his music- abity infulenced me. But the fact that he was black. Tought me that anything could happen, no matter how you are. Just Reach for it and it will come.

Let that be a lesson to you all. Because the 80s were great. and i am just a man, back to reaching for better highs. Just like Slash.
