I am pianist/keyboard player.

I like all styles of music, but have a particular soft spot for musicals. I have been part of the band in many local musical theatre performances over the last 15 years. You cannot beat live theatre for that emotional mix. What I really find fascinating is how the same song performed on different evenings will have a completely different effect on the audience. Yet, I cannot discern a difference in how it was performed.

I have been composing songs for the last 10 years, none of which have yet seen the light of day. My original idea was to compose a musical, until I underwent a reality check and realised that even amateur societies would never take a chance and perform something new and original.

I struggle with creating lyrics that don't sound too cheesy. I have loads of ideas for melodies etc. but feel in order to progress, and get some of my music heard, I need to start collaborating: Either finding vocalists, lyricists, or somebody to add some decent production values to my own efforts.

I compose using Sibelius, although I am trying to learn to use some of the free DAWs out there like Cakewalk.
