Congratulations @NotaSalad and @TurboMaus, it feels like you have something very good coming up. I'll be watching :-)
Thanks Gianfranco, why not join in?
I thought about it but I?m not sure that you really need me. What?s the status at the moment?
I don't really know the status. I'm still feeling everything out so it might go in a different direction if need be, who knows. But if you have an idea, please feel free to pitch it and we'll see if we can make it work
The reason I was asking is that, after listening to this Turbomaus demo in particular https://www.kompoz.com/music/collaboration/1031995/file/1032642 it is difficult for me to imagine something that would work better.
So I may help with the mixing and engineering, but I'd say that it is first important that NotaSalad decides which direction to go between the four demos that are already there, 2 from Turbomaus, gabrojazz's "IST" and Gemini's dancey one. It's an embarassment of riches!
You're absolutely right. I feel really bad because my day has been super backed up, so I didn't have a chance to play with anything, but my idea would probably be a medium between gabrojazz's submission with the cool keyboard sounds and turbomaus's garage band rock style. It may sound weird to put together but I would love to hear what it may come up with. I don't know how much I'd be able to do with the demos we have here because I'm not the one who made them so I can't exactly edit the parts lol. Hopefully this gives an idea of what direction I'm kind of feeling for this song ^¬^
in my opinion, the 'garage' verse works really well, but not so well in the chorus.
Gabrojazz chorus harmonies work better than mine in the chorus, but I think some aspects of my rhythms from the verse could be carried over to the chorus to gel it together... even though I think the Chorus B part doesn't even need a rhythm as it could drop down again before the 2nd verse... it would be easier if were all in the same room for 30 mins...lol, but if you and Gabro agree, maybe he could try something along those lines. Happy to discount my first idea completely.
I agree with Alex.
My last version is quantized at 140 BPM and try to incorporate some of your elements.
I will have some time next Tuesday.
Let me know.
That sounds great to me! The only thin go want to make clear is the sections of the song. So in some of the recordings the instrumentals behind the 2nd chorus almost make it sound like I'm starting a new verse. The verse then chorus 1 then chorus 2 of each section (or at least the first two sections) all have a different feels to them but I'm intending to have them musically make sense together with added instrumental. My point is basically that I want it to be super clear when sections end and begin and just the transitions between the individual parts within each section. Thank you!
Ok so please take my last version as reference and write the starting time(min:sec) for each section.
sounds like a plan :-)
Section 1: 0:00-0:59 (Includes verse, chorus 1, chorus 2)
Section 2: 1:00-1:55 (Includes verse, chorus 1, chorus 2)
Section 3: 1:55-3:15 (Includes bridge, chorus 1, chorus 2, chorus 1)
Also, again the last chorus 1 is little-to-no instrumental lol
