Get Your Head Out of Their Asses

I wonder why they bother and

Will it really matter

To many times I heard it before

They make their false promises 

To fade away and disappear

So bring it on and

Dance around the edges

Let them make all the false promises

Then you give into the concessions

You want to make a change

You have to get your head out their ass

Get your head in the game

You have to stay the course or fade into shame

They stare right through you

With their blank eyes 

And their blank minds

The world will not change

It's a farce, this life that we made

With homeless families starving in the streets

Because of some nameless entity

That took away their homes with lies and deceit 

They want to bring back yesterday

What about all the woes of today

The days of Kennedy are long gone

Camelot was a fantasy that'd gone terribly wrong 

Young men dying defending a fence so far away

When they were just babies what seemed only yesterday

Mothers and Fathers crying for the ones they loved

If they survived to return, only to be shunned 

I don't want to change the world

I just want to exist  in a universe

Overflowing with harmony and peace

I don't want to be the scapegoat

For all the earths resentments and ills

Some won't and some will

No one seems to care

Yet we keep striving

To keep the wolves at bay

Because what we do tomorrow

Doesn't seem to help today

History is only going to repeat of itself

Again and again and again
