Dies ist meine letzte Version mit einer besonders leisen Hintergrundspur für das Saxophon mit zusätzlichem Hall. Dadurch bewegt sich das Saxophon mit Surround-Sound im Raum. Marios bass ist jetzt weniger "woofy" und ausdrucksvoller. Ich lerne jedes Mal etwas Neues, wenn ich ein neues Stück mischen darf. Wie Sie sehen, sind viele Variablen möglich, und hier befinde ich mich auf der Misch- - Lernkurve. Wenn ich zu meinen früheren Arbeiten hier zurückkehre, kann ich mich vor dem Mangel an Wissen zurückziehen, aber so wird es gelernt.
Also ist das erledigt?
This is my last version with an extra low-volume background track for the sax with extra reverb. It makes the sax move around the room with surround sound. Mario's bass is now less "woofy" and more expressive. I learn something new every time I get to mix a new piece. As you can see there are a lot of variables possible and this is where I am at on the mixing--learning--curve. Going back to my earlier works on here I can cringe at the lack of knowledge displayed, yet this is how it is learned.
So is this done?

I know "Memory Y" and this track are different entities, but they both offer a level of musical expression that is not often heard. In my mind, this expression really links both tracks. The three of us have begun to create a very interesting body of work.

I listened to this work and Memory Y again and was trying to figure how they are different. Memory Y is like catching lightning in a bottle. I began it with just a guitar background and generated "following drums". You both said the drums were in the way so I deleted them. At the end I added the drums and it is the opposite way this one was done with the drums first. It is hard to decide sometimes what works best. Every piece needs to be treated uniquely it seems.
I will be glad to be playing to your pieces someday as well. I'm glad you are having a good time and enjoying the trip.
I hope I can continue the trio with work worthy of adding to ... it's a fun challenge.

Having this amount of creativity, allowing me to express myself, while also exploring music for music's sake, while not staying within the confines of a genre, has been amazing, mind blowing actually!
It is situations just like this that make me happy to pick up my instrument and make music with other people. For that, I thank you both!
I don't want you to think I don't take the time to listen to the song. Because that's not the case :) The work is great and I admire your detailed dedication! Therefore I do not hold back with my opinion and note something how I feel about it.
It think when the bass starts it has also to be smoother with the volume, because else I think you will be thrown in at the deep end. Then I really like the volume of bass and sax, so you can really hear the interaction. At 1:49 I really like the stop of the bass - maybe a little little break of al instruments could fit well. I was thinking about that the guitar could be volumend up, but no - it's great because it carries bass and sax. Maybe another break at 2:56 - silance and then only the bass starting.
OK, mal sehen, wie das funktionieren könnte. Ich habe eine Final2-Version mit den vorgeschlagenen Pausen hochgeladen. Ich muss alle Track-Ebenen synchron halten und darauf achten, was in der Stille gespielt wird. Ich musste den Start des Saxophons eliminieren, um die Stille zu öffnen, damit der Bass um 2:56 alleine beginnen konnte. Ich konnte keinen einfachen Weg finden, die 3 Sekunden des Saxophons während der ersten Unterbrechung zu unterbrechen, also stoppte ich alles andere um 1:49
Vielleicht sollte ich mir bewusst sein, zukünftige Werke zu öffnen, damit sie nicht ohne Unterbrechungen so kontinuierlich sind. Es ist viel schwieriger, nachdem ein Stück fertig ist.
Hören Sie zu und entscheiden Sie, ob dies eine bessere Version ist.
OK, let's see how this might work. I have uploaded a Final2 version with the suggested pauses. I have to keep all of the track layers in sync and be careful of what is being played at the silence. I had to eliminate the start of the sax to open the silence for the bass to start alone at 2:56. I could not find an easy way to interrupt the sax's 3 seconds running through the first interruption so I stopped everything else at 1:49
Perhaps I should be more aware of opening up future works so they are not so continuous without breaks. It is much harder to do after a piece is finished.
Listen and decide if this is a better version.
