Creative Brief

This song with lyrics by Johnny "Ace" Williams was started at another collaboration site. The singer did a rough demo with a bad mic a year ago and hasn't been able to do a new, good take since then. I'm putting the song up at Kompoz hoping that we can finish it - or at least find a singer - here.

There is a bassist who wants to work on the song, but feel free to add your bass if you're a bassist too! There is no limit for the number of different versions we can do.

Edit 30th July 2014 - new version of lyrics:

Corporate Dogs

Chorus:
Are there no rooms in Heaven for the corporate dogs?
No there are no rooms in Heaven for the corporate dogs
Hell won't have 'em 'cause the devil's got his own backlog
so they put 'em out back where the angels feed the hogs
'cause there are no rooms in Heaven for the corporate dogs

Fat cats gather in a board room to talk about developments
the news is a shock an ev'ryone's in panic mode
armed with facts from a man they pay in the government
a message has arrived written in secret code

Some little man in a workshop wants to change the world
A foolish little man screwing up the status quo
Remember the story of the fisherman who found the pearl
Gentlemen, that's how low we're prepared to go

There is a man who we can trust
he always does what he knows he must
details have already been discussed
He's promised to deliver these plans to us

[Chorus]

Somewhere lives a man who works for the government
a civil servant who does only serve himself
on a password account he accesses on the internet
a nice, little cheque awaits him for his help

A call gets placed to a law firm off in a foreign land
an account is made and money gets shuffled in
a throw-away phone makes a call out to a hidden man
the game gets changed so the corporation wins

Quickly do the wheels of power spin
in room so quiet you can hear a pin
they all read a memo that's been given them
when the chairman wields his almighty pen

[Chorus]

Meanwhile, the corporation spins the stock
money gets past and deals are locked
the minutes get lost in an iron box
of the little man's world that's about to rock

[Chorus]

Old version:

Corporate Dogs

Fat cats gather in the board room to talk about developments
a drop in the stock puts ev'ryone in panic mode
armed with facts from a man they keep in the government
a message has arrived written in a secret code

Men and women with faces grim
read from a memo that was given them
in a room so quiet you can hear a pin
an' the wheels of power begin to spin...

Are there no rooms in Heaven for the corporate dogs?
No, there are no rooms in Heaven for the corporate dogs
Hell won't take 'em 'cause the devil's got his own back-log
So, they put 'em out back where the Angels feed the hogs
There's just no room in Heaven for the corporate dogs

Some little man in a workshop thinks he can change the world
A foolish little man screwing up the status quo
Remember that story of the fisherman who found the pearl
Gentlemen, that's how low we're prepared to go

We know a man who we can trust
he always does what he knows he must
details have already been discussed
He promised to deliver those plans to us

Are there no rooms in Heaven for the corporate dogs?
No, there are no rooms in Heaven for the corporate dogs
Hell won't take 'em 'cause the devil's got his own back-log
So, they put 'em out back where the Angels feed the hogs
There's just no room in Heaven for the corporate dogs

Somewhere lives a man who works for the government
an civil servant who will only serves himself
on a password account he has accessed on the internet
a nice, little cheque awaits him for his help

Are there no rooms in Heaven for the corporate dogs?
No, there are no rooms in Heaven for the corporate dogs
Hell won't take 'em 'cause the devil's got his own back-log
So, they put 'em out back where the Angels feed the hogs
There's just no room in Heaven for the corporate dogs
