I didn't start out with this in mind, but I like it as a way to keep all of Buttercup and while adding some mob feel. I can continue in any number of ways if you'd like. I thought I'd get you something quick to hear how I sound.
indeed this would be another option. from my side i think we should stick on david's idea of the song and see how it turns out before playing around with the options.
so priority one would be to have a simple sep (without effects) which doubles up "there's the boy" stuff.
easy and simple :-)
Understood. You had also asked me to sing the verses since the description called for a different voice for each phrase. That's actually what I did first. I sang the first eight phrases in a low voice and high voice to use for that purpose. I just mixed them this way while tinkering and liked it. The same seps could be used simply by changing the panning and removing the effects.
Do you now only want me to sing the "where's the boy" parts? I'm cool with that. I could do a low and a high, or a low, medium and high.
no, you're actually right, in the end david want's to do both. currently i'm more focussed on the mob to start with.
so if you could do some variations on the "there's the boy" stuff would be great so I could choose and see what works best (or even take all of them).
for the lead (replace some of christin's parts) something with similar timing/phrasing as christine does would be great (at least it should not overlap the mob), potentially in the range where you feel most comfortable. if this is what you've already done great (to me hard to judge because of the fx)
Here's what I'll do and let me know if this sounds okay.
I'll sing each occurrence of "there's the boy" as they're sung in the track with Buttercup and the children and I'll post this as a dry sep. I might sing it more than once, each in a different pitch range, like Mack did. Each would post as a different mono sep.
I'll sing both verse sections that Buttercup sang, in full, as a "different character". One will be melodically similar to Buttercups and another pitched lower. Each will post as dry, mono seps.
You can then choose to use, not use, slice and dice as you see fit.
this sound very good to me.
please also do the "there's the boy" (the short ones) in the first part of the song, that would be great.
Yes, I plan to double every occurrence of "there's the boy" in the 2 min. track with Buttercup and the children. If you're referring to something not in that track, please direct me to the track that serves as a guide.
I'll also double the oo's and ahh's as Mack did.
all correct as per your description (sorry, my fault. didn't read carefully enough)
I've uploaded the seps for "there's the boy" and the "oohs" (doubles/harmonies).
this is great, thank you very much for your help!
Yes, great stuff Joe, please do the leads also,Thanks!!
I would like you to also sing the "There's The Boy" backing in this way Joe, and then we will have all options. I think by having as many people as possible doing this we can pick who will sing each line like a huge musical jigsaw.
Ideally I want every vocalist to do this... All singing Theres the boy to make the mob sound and all singing the full song so we can cut and paste
