Drums and Piano...just having some fun, I understand if it's not the direction your headed...It just came out...ha ha. Thanks for listening..
Cool feel. I've started to score a sax section for this. This should work well with the saxes if I ever get a chance to track them.
Great!...I was kinda "flyin' blind" on this one...
I'm glad you did. I was having difficulty deciding what kind of feel the song needed. Now I know.
Yeah...it's a tough one...leave it to Peter to stretch across the boundries...)
your groove at 2:00 is cool. you might want to give more of a groove after that, kinda of what you are doing at 2:40 so the song keeps rising up at that point. at 0:25 you have another good grove. i guess you could break down at 1:00 and let some other instrumnet flow with the piano to create flow control, i guess that is the same at 2:19. i just think at the 2 minute mark , the song should continue to groove - my 2 cents

P.S - a steve Gad break would be nice
Thanks for the input Rich...Yeah, this can go a few different ways. I started playing this with brushes but there didn't seem to be enough oomph. Some different instrumentation may have me knock it back a bit...or not! heh heh. Nice piano track...I love piano and drums...
If you ask me (go ahead - ask me ..) this is superb. The mix is sonic by far. The texture of the drums with the texture of the piano .. wowie zowie. I love it. Don't touch it! Please - consider - don't go crowding it up with much of anything else. I could listen to this for hours just being drawn into its texture :)
(downloading my copy now!)
OK, OK, maybe sax .. maybe a laid back sax (yup)
Ray...you're too generous....in a chutzpahtic sort-of way ))
@ M&M the track will be good one! i will be intrested to hear what marty plays and i would think Pete would play bass. i would still like to hear you do a Steve Gadd break :) it would fit this track!
Yes Mark, drums are very nice.
I asked Ron Adams to give the bass a go.
He said he had time over Thanksgiving.
I was thinking a jazzy good sounding upright would sound good.
I have been playing bass to this and found some interesting variations. I might post them if I settle on something. Definitely not the jazzy good sounding upright direction.
Love your input Rich and love the ascot.
yea, i dont hear upright bass on this track. i hear electric band! i consider marks groove an electric band groove. if i listen to just piano, i guess you could go with that outside jazz acoustic sound althought not what i hear on this track. i know marty can change sax gears to go either direction and sound electric or acoustic. i will see the outcome. i am just to pro electic jazz :)
