Every Friday morning, me and a group of guys from work get in extra early and go for breakfast. We go to the Star Cafe which is a place steeped in history in the middle of Soho, where they do a fantastic breakfast that you can enjoy while taking in the hundreds of advertising signs from a bygone age that are plastered over every wall (these are mostly for long defunct cigarette brands whose slogans are telling you smoking is good for you and if not, then you'll certainly be a hit with the girls). 

Being regulars there, we have a good rapport with the staff and particularly with the waitresses. Over the last few months, there's been a bit of a relationship developing between one of the guys (I won't mention his name) and one of the waitresses, its all been very low key and kind of innocent and jokie and never gone beyond a bit of flirting, but there has definitely been something brewing.

So this morning we go to breakfast as usual and find out that today is her last day and that she's flying back home the next morning (somewhere in eastern Europe) and is not likely to come back to the UK. Needless to say, he was very sad.

So I thought I'd take the opportunity to write a suitably sad and somber track to remember the Heartbreak at the Star Cafe.
